Miss Wanda Jean Bartlett
became the bride of Otis
Lesley Biddle on June 4 at
the Mountain View Baptist
Church.
The bride’s parents are
Mr. and Mrs. William F.
Bartlett. Mr. and Mrs.
George Biddle are the par
ents of the bridegroom.
The Rev. Ralph Brown of
ficiated. Miss Ann Wonds
presented a program of
nuptial music.
The bride, who was given
in marriage by her father,
wore a floor length "own of
peau de sole. The fitted
bodice featured an val
neckline trimmed in bro
caded lace with seeded
pearls, and long pointed
sleeves. A chapel train fell
from the waistline. Her
elbow length veil was at
tached to an orange-blossom
headpiece. The bride carried
a white Bible topped with a
white orchid and featured
carnations and lilies of the
valley.
Miss Cheryl Bartlett was
her sister's maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss
Glenda Edwards, Miss Pat
Lee, and Miss Rita Lively.
The attendants wore floor
length gowns of peau de
sole. The maid of honor
wore a pale yellow dress
and the bridesmaids wore
dresses of mint green. The
dresses featured an empire
waistline, oval neckline and
short sleeves. The attend
ants wore long gloves which
matched the dresses and a
string of baby pearls pre
sented by the bride. The
headpieces were bouffant

The lovely home of Mr.
and Mrs. Gene Ballard in
Menlo, was the setting for
an informal reception hon
oring the Rev. and Mrs
Keith Loveless, of Cedar
town, Sunday afternoon.

Mr Loveless has been serv
ing the Methodist churches
of the Menlo-Bethel circuit
since January, and this day
marked the end of his tem
porary pastorate.

greeting guests and pre
senting them to Mr. and
Mrs Loveless by Mrs. H. E.
Simmons and Mrs. R. L.

their church’s Woman’s So

During the afternoon,
words of appreciation were
shoulder-length veils. The
attendants carried bouquets
of yellow daisies.
Miss Leshia Ozem en t,
cousin of the bride, was the
flower girl. She was dressed
like the bridesmaids and
carried a basket of yellow
daisies. Dale Hurley, cousin
of the bride, was the ring
bearer.
Ronald Pledger was best
man. Groomsmen were Troy
Griffith, Marshall Ozement,
and Theron Earwood.
For her daughter’s wed
ding, Mrs. Bartlett chose
a two-piece street-length
dress of beige silk covered
with lace. She wore har
monizing accessories and a
corsage of white carnations.
The mother of the bride
groom wore a two-piece
street-length dress of beige
knit. She wore matching ac
cessories with a corsage of
white carnations.
A reception was held at
the home of the bride. Mrs.
Marshall Ozement kept the
bride’s book. Those assisting
in serving were Miss Diane
Carr of Huntsville, Ala., Mrs.
John Hurley of Rome and
Mrs. Theron Earwood.
For the wedding trip, the
bride wore an orange and
white knit dress. She wore
white accessories and a
white orchid. The couple
will reside in LaFayette.
Out-of-town guests in
cluded Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Miller of Atlanta, Mr. and
Mrs. John Hurley, Debra and
Dale of Rome, Miss Diane
Carr of Huntsville, Ala., and
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Gilreath

to the dedicated minister.
