TO VISIT EUROPE
Randv and Cheri Durham
Youngsters Plan
European Tour
Two young Chattoogans
will leave next week on a
14-day tour of six European
countries.
Cheri and Randy Durham,
17 and 13 years old, respec
tively, have been Invited to
participate in an Interna
tional Student Tour of Hol
land. Germany, Switzerland,
Italy, France and England.
The trip is sponsored by
the Central High School
English class of Chatta
nooga. Twenty-three per
sons, including chaperones,
will leave by plane from
Chattanooga on the first leg
of their journey on July 11.
They will return August 2.
The first stop for the
group will be Holland, where
they will be joined by a
guide who will accompany
the visitors throughout their
tour.
A special itenerary has
been pre-planned for the
students in each of the
countries they will visit The
group will see many world
famous sights.
While it will be primarily
an educational tour, the
students will have 30 hours
of free time to make plans
of their own choosing
The youngsters plan to
make slides of the many in
teresting places they will
visit These slides will be
shown at the school upon
their return.
Randy said, “We are really
looking forward to the trip.”

The Primary and Inter
mediate Sunday School
classes of the Lyerly Church
of Christ enjoyed an outing
Wednesday afternoon. They
were accompanied by their
teachers, Mrs. Buddy Busbin
and Mrs. Harold Bishop.
Minister T. S. Broome joined
the group. Highlights were a
visit to the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Cook, at Gaylesville
to view Mrs. Cook’s Interna
tional doll collection. Mrs.
Cook’s hobby is making cos
tumes for nearly 400 differ
ent dolls of many countries
of the world. From there the
group enjoyed a sightseeing
trip to Lake Weiss. After
wards they enjoyed refresh
ments at the home of Mrs.
Harold Bishop. Enjoying the
outing were Margaret Jones,
Nona, Mattie and Mary Lou
Husle, Gail and Wilma
Greer, Jean Stinson, Ruth
Elliott, Marty, Spence and
Hillery Brome, Melody, Su
san and Buzz Busbin and
Donna and Auburn Longley.

liams has accepted a posi
tion with Triangle Hard
ware.
Mr. Williams is a well
known businessman in the
Chattooga County area, hav
ing been in the grocery busi
ness for approximately 20
years.
He was associated in the
grocery business with his
father, the late Earl Wil
liams. from 1945 until 1948.
Upon the retirement of his
father In 1948, Mr. Williams
assumed complete ownership
and operated the store un
til 1958.
He was associated with
Kelly and Glenn Bulman in
B&W Super Market for sev
eral years before buying out
the Bulmans’ interests in
1965.
In September 1965, Mr
Williams built a modern, 11,-
200-square-foot super mar
ket near the Triangle Shop
ping Center. He recently sold
the stock and fixtures of
Hoyt’s Super Market to J. B.
Woodard, who now operates
a Piggly Wiggly store in the
building.
Mr. Williams is married to
the former Hazel Broome.
They have two children:
Mrs. Ralph Tripp. Route 1.
Trion; and Jimmy Williams,
who lives with his parents.
Mr. Williams invites his
friends to visit him at Tri
angle Hardware.
