neckline, long fitted sleeves
with button closures, V-bodice
seaming detail, side front pleats
and a short tram. She wore her
grandmother's lavahere, which
was also worn by her mother
on her wedding day, and
carried a bouquet of asters,
cornflowers and baby's breath

Rivets. Wis . a college room
mate ol the bride. Miss Mary
Austin of Appleton, Wis , was
the only bridesmaid.
Ray Bodie of Harvey, 111.,
served the bridegroom as best

The marriage of Miss
Cynthia Diane Smith and
James Ixroy Bond Jr was
solemnized at the Second
Baptist Church in Las ayette at
7 30 in the evening, July 18.
The Rev. Sam Marshall of
Rockmart, former pastor of
the Lafayette church,
officiated
The bride is the daughter of
Mr and Mrs. Oscar Smith of
LaFa ye 11 c, and the
bridegroom's parents are Mr
and Mrs. J.L. Bond of
Summerville.
Arched floor candelabra
flanked by tree candelabra,
white urns of glads,
chrysanthemums and pompons
arranged against a background
if greenery were the
decorations, forming a pretty
setting for the bridal group
Miss Myra Maples, organist
and Miss Kathy Littlejohn,
vocalist, presented a program
of wedding music. The soloist’s
numbers were “More,” and
“The Lord’s Prayer.”
Traditional wedding marches
were the processional and
recessional
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a formal
gown of white bridal satin
fashioned with an Empire
waistline and accented with
rows of daisies centered with
seed pearls They extended
from the waist to the hemline
of the skirt and also outlined
the round neckline They were
repeated on the cuffs of the
long sleeves and were sprinkled
over the long train. Her
elbow-length veil was attached
to a headpiece of net and seed
pearls She carried a bouquet
of lilies of the valley and
stephanotis centered with a
beautiful white orchid.
Miss Vicki Smith of Atlanta
was maid of honor and
bridesmaids were Misses Lee
Shanks of LaFayette and Linda
Bass of Trion.
Tire attendants' dresses were
floor-length and had beige
bodices and avocado skirts.
Fluted ruffles trimmed the
neck and puffed sleeves Their
headpieces were of yellow
malinc, daisies and yellow
bows, and they carried baskets
filled with daisies. Bows and
streamers of moss green
ribbons adorned the baskets
Tammy Haney, daughter of
Mrs. Roy Burns of Kennesaw
and Johnny Haney, was flower
girl
Eddie Morrison of
Summerville was best man. Lee
Linderman and Jack Bond, also
of Summerville, were ushers.
Shawn Tucker, son of Mr. and
Mrs. L.D. Tucker, was
ringbearer.
The bride’s mother was
dressed in lime brocade,
matching accessories and wore
a white orchid corsage. The
bridegroom’s mother wore a
yellow knit dress, harmonizing
accessories and a white orchid.
RECEPTION
The bride’s parents
entertained the wedding party
and guests in the fellowship
fiall following the ceremony.
The bride’s table with a
cover of yellow lace held the
three-tiered wedding cake
decorated with yellow roses
and green leaves and topped
with a bride and groom.
Candelabra holding lighted
yellow tapers were on each
side. A punch bowl and mints
and nuts were also on the
table.
Misses Becky Coulter and
Debbie Shields served the cake
and Miss Marilyn Henry
presided over the punch
service. Miss Regis Pickle kept
the bride’s book.
For the wedding trip to
Callaway Gardens the bride
changed to a dress of light blue
crepe, navy accessories and a
white orchid corsage. Upon
their return the couple will
reside at Apt. 6, Club Drive, in
Trion.
Out of town guests included

Francis Bond and Richard,
