Monday being the first day

deeply saddened last Monday
afternoon to learn of the death
of one of Trion’s best known
citizens, Charlie Moon, and
extend to Mrs. Moon and her
family their heartfelt
sympathy.
Mrs. Frances Holt spent sev
eral days in Atlanta last week
attending the Farmer’s Home
Administration Meeting held at
the Atlanta American Motor
Hotel, which was climaxed
with a banquet Friday night.

Army Chaplain Will Speak
At Calvary Baptist Church
An Army chaplain assigned
to Fort Knox, Ky., will be the
featured speaker for “Back-to-
School Sunday” at the Calvary
Baptist Church here, according
to an announcement by the
pastor, the Rev. Bill Barber.
Capt. Boyd Lackey will
present some of his magic
tricks for toddlers up to junior
age at the Sunday School as
sembly, and will speak to the
high school group during the
Sunday School hour. The chap
lain will also speak at the
morning worship service.
Capt. Lackey is a graduate
of the Army Chaplain School
in Hamilton, N. Y. He recently
wrote a book on teaching the
Bible to new Christians and to
children. The book is also a
study guide for a review of the
Bible.
Mr. Lackey has spoken in
churches in New England and
throughout the Southern
states. He has conducted city
wide meetings for young peo
ple, has spoken in state and
