Friends of Mr. and Mrs.
Eugene Arnold will be glad to
know they are now at home
after spending several days last
week in the local hospital from
injuries suffered in a traffic ac
cident last week.
The First Baptist Church
honored the youngest mother,
Mrs. Jack Taylor, the oldest
mothers present, Mrs. Claudia
(Bunch) Brimer and Mrs. Alice
Carroll, and the mother with
the largest number of children
present, Mrs. Ressie Barrett,
with beautiful floral arrange
ments Sunday during the
morning services.
A beautiful home wedding
was performed Saturday, May
13, at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Marvin McClellan on
Dickeyville Rd., uniting Miss
Carolyn Hines and Tommy
McClellan in marriage. The
Rev. Jimmy Welborn of Spring
Creek Baptist Church offici
ated in the presence of relatives
and close friends. Mrs. Mc-
Clellan is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jess Hines and Mr.
and Mrs. Jim McClellan are the
parents of the groom. A recep
tion followed the ceremony. A
happy future is wished for this
young couple.

Pre-School Roundup Set
Pre-school registration of all pupils entering the first grade for
the first time next school year will be held at Lyerly School,
Wednesday, May 24, from 9 a.m. till noon in the school
gymnasium. Mrs. Catherine Turner, Health Department nurse,
will be present to consult with parents about immunization
requirements.
Birth certificates are required for registration. Beginning first
grade pupils must have obtained the age of six on or before next
Dec. 31, 1972.
If parents are unable to register their children on this date,
they are urged to come by the school at their earliest convenience
for this purpose.
It is very important for the school to know the number of
pupils entering, since planning and purchases of materials are
necessary.
Light refreshments will be served the new enrollees at regis
tration.

His studies were designed to
develop individual Army
leadership skills and to increase

communicate with fellow
soldiers.
Sp/5 Howard is an intelli
gence analyst with the Military
Intelligence Specialty Detach
ment, deputy chief of staff for
intelligence, Headquarters,
U. S. Army-Pacific.
He entered the Army in
February 1969, completed
basic training at Fort Benning,
and was last stationed in Viet
nam.
