ENTERPRISE— Somebody said
recently, ‘if you’re going to
teach your children the value
of a dollar you’ll have to do it
awfully fast.’ We all know the
dollar isn’t worth as much as it
once was. Somehow, money
and its value confuses me. To
me inflation means that instead
of having the money you
haven’t got, you have twice as
much but it’s worth only half
of what you would have if you
had what you haven’t got.
Those of us who are house
wives know that we can make a
kettle of soup go a mighty long
way, if we have to, by adding
more water to it. We also know
that the more water we add,
the weaker the soup. The value
of money must be something
like that with inflation play
ing the role of water in the
currency soup.
