Net Income
Shows Gain
In Georgia
Net revenue collections tor
the month of October were
$102,034,495.05 compared to
$81,702,515.77 for October of
1971. This is an increase of
$20,331,979.28, representing a
24.9 percent increase.
Net revenue collections for
the first four months of the
current fiscal year were
$399,513,342.22. Compared
to $331,495,637.64 for the
first four months of last fiscal
year this is an increase of
$68,017,704.58, representing a
20.5 percent increase for the
four-month period.
Commissioner Blackmon
pointed out that all sources of
revenue continue significant
growth over last year. He
cautioned, however, “In
dividual income tax increase of
$12,232,072.75 for October, is
primarily caused by the fact
withholding collections in
October of this year were due
and collected on the 20th day
of the month. Last year, with
holding collections were due
and collected on the last day of
the month. Consequently,
most of the withholding col
lections last year were reflected
in the November report rather
than the October report.
Therefore, we may expect a
decrease of several million
dollars in withholding collec
tions for the month of Novem
ber, as compared to November
1971. A leveling off is ex
pected to continue for the re
mainder of the fiscal year.”
Marta net collections for the
month of October were
$3,752,583.76. This brings
total MARTA net collections
to $20,251,070.47 for six
months.
