SCHOOL
The Summerville Parks and
Recreation Department has the 1
opportunity to sponsor a dog
obedience school. There must
be at least 10 dogs par
ticipating. The classes will be |
conducted by a professional
dog trainer, and will be held
once each week for 10 weeks
A fee will be charged for this

Thanksgiving holiday. Dance

Revival services will begin

the Summerville Church of
God.
The Rev Joseph Coley of

Gospel Music
Contest Set
The North Whitfield Baptist
Church of Whitfield County
announces its sponsorship of
the first annual North Georgia
Gospel Music Festival and all
night singing. This event is to
be held at the West Side High
School Auditorium on Satur
day, Nov 25.
The program will get under
way at 6 p.m. with a big
amateur gospel music contest, :
which will be open to all gospel i
music groups in the tristate
area
North Whitfield Baptist
Church, known in this area as a
friend to gospel music, wishes
to give all the groups a chance
to sing to gospel music fans.
These groups will be judged by
a distinguished group of gospel
music teachers The winner will
be awarded a gigantic trophy.
After the competition, a big
all-night singing is to follow,
with several groups being
featured Among these are The
Golden Harvest Quartet from
Rainesville, Ala., The Williams
Brothers Quartet from Dalton,
Big Bob Allen and the Gospel
Sound from Atlanta, Mission
Aires Quartet from Summer

Mrs. Flora Lee Espy, 59, Route 1,
Trion, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday,
Nov. 13, in Floyd Hospital, Rome.
Funeral services were conducted
from Mountain View Baptist
Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.
15. with the Rev. Douglas Brandon
and the Rev. A. A. Tanner offi
ciating. Interment was in West Hill
Cemetery. _ _

MRS. JULIA V WILLIAMS
Mrs. Julia Victor Williams, 57, a
resident of 218 Pine St., Trion died
at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in Trion
Community Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted
from Spring Creek Baptist Church
at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, with
the Rev. A. A Tanner and the Rev.
Jimmy Wilborn officiating. Inter
ment was in Trion Cemetery.

Dr. Paul B. Fowler has
joined the Chattooga County
Presbyterian Ministries and will
work with the Rev. George K.
Preston.
Dr. Fowler was born in
Pittsburgh, Pa., and received a
B.A. degree in 1963 from
Wheaton College, Wheaton, 111.
In 1966, he received a B.D.
degree from Columbia Theo
logical Seminary in Decatur,
Ga. In 1972, he received a
Ph D. from the University of
Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scot
land.
Dr. Fowler previously
served as associate minister of
the First Presbyterian Church
of Dothan, Ala., and West
minister Presbyterian Church
in Atlanta.
The new minister, his wife,
the former Camma Margaret
Cook of Andalusia, Ala., and
their two-year-old son, Paul Jr.,
have moved into the Presby
terian manse in Trion.
Dr. Fowler said, “We are
very happy to have this oppor
tunity to minister in the area.
We hope the Presbyterian
churches of the county will be
able to provide some leadership
for the community, with refer
ence to communicating the
gospel of Jesus Christ.

foreign heads of state are ex
pected to join in the 1973
Bible reading.
The purpose of the event,
according to Harold N. S.
ards Jr., director-speaker of the
Voice of Prophecy, is “to re
focus the attention of people
everywhere on the ageless and
readily available wisdom of the
Scriptures.”
