DEATHS
ROBERT GARDNER JR.
Robert Lee Gardner Jr., 40,
a resident of 4812 Law
ranceville Highway, Tucker,
Ga., and a former resident of
Summerville, died Saturday,
Dec. 9, at 1:30 p.m. He was
born in Cherokee County, Ala.,
on Dec. 1, 1932, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert L. Gardner
Sr., Route 1, Summerville. He
was an employee of Overnite
Transportation Co., Atlanta, a
veteran of the Korean War, and
a member of the Hawthorn
Baptist Church, Tucker
Surviving are his wife, Vir
ginia M. Gardner, Tucker; one
daughter, Mrs. Anglia Marable,
Rome; two sons, Randall D.
and Gregory Lee Gardner, both
of Tucker; parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert L. Gardner Sr.,
Summerville; three sisters, Mrs.
Christine Smith, Atlanta. Mrs.
Maxine Latta, Rome, and Mrs.
Mozelle Olson, Pontiac, Mich.;
grandmother, Mrs. Rita Hen
derson of Centre, Ala., several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec 11,
from the chapel of Erwin-Petitt
Funeral Home, with the Rev.
Peter Mustric, and the Rev.
W. 11. Dean officiating. Burial
was in Greenhill Memory Gar
dens.
Active pallbearers were
Sammy Gardner, Buddy
Barnes, Pat Allen, Leon Gard
ner, James Gardner, and Oscar
Holbrooks.

MRS BELLE JUSTICE
Mrs. Belle Thomas Justice,
83, Route I, Trion, died
Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 1:35
a m. in Chattooga County Hos
pital. She was born in Chat
tooga County on March 3,
1889, daughter of the late
John Henry and Margaret
Fulmer Thomas. She was a life
long resident of Chattooga
County and a member of the
Trion First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband,
'Allen W. Justice, Trion, three
daughters, Mrs Edwin Pfitzer,
Chattanooga, Mrs. Chester
Elliott, Tallassee, Ala., and
Mrs. J H Stephens, Trion; one
son, John Allen Justice, Selma,
Ala ; three sisters, Mrs. B. E.
Neal and Mrs. Graves Myers,
Summerville, Mrs. Paul Jones,
Yazoo City, Miss.; two bro
thers, Fred and Ross Thomas,
both of Trion; 10 grand
children; seven great-gran- '
dchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held
at II a m. Thursday, Dec. 7,
from the chapel of I rwin-Petitt
Funeral Home, with the Rev.
L. Frank Welch and the Rev.
A. A. Tanner officiating Burial
was in Trion Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Fred
Neal, Graves Myers HI, J. L.
Broome, Bobby Housch, Dave
Wurm, and Billy Housch

expectedly Tuesday, Dec. 5, at

Hospital He was born in De-
Kalb County, Ala., Nov. 27,
1932, son of Mrs. Viola Smith
and the late Charlie I Smith
He was a veteran of the Korean
War, and a member of VI W
Post 6688.
Surviving are his mother,
Mrs. Viola Smith, Summerville;
four sisters, Mrs Louise
Stephens and Mdrgie Smith,
Trion, Mrs. Betty Sue Brock,
Mrs. Joyce Ashworth, Summer
ville; four brothers, Wayne
Gene Smith. Summerville, i
Smith, Gallsville, Ga., Bill
Smith, Tnon; several nieces
and nephews
Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec 7,
from the chapel of 1 rwin Petitt
Funeral Home, with the Rev.
Alfred Henderson officiating.
Burial was in Macedonia Ceme
tery.
