when he was a lad his right
hand was seriously wounded.
The physician who dressed it
had had one drink, and allowed
a broken finger to slip. For the
balance of his life he carried a
crooked finger because a
doctor had had one drink.
Dr. Dawson cites the case of
a friend whose doctor let his
hand slip by a small fraction of
an inch in cutting out a tonsil,
and for that one drink the
patient gave his life.

To these examples hundreds

have suffered and are suffering
from drinking physicians,

motormen, who should have

is a poison men take into the
mouth to steal away the
brain.”

for administration,” states

have you deliberately dis- ■
qualified yourselves?
What did General Pershing
say? He said, "Drunkenness has
killed more men than all of
history’s wars.”
Now listen to General
Robert E. Lee, “My experience
through life has convinced me
that abstinence from spiritous
liquors is the best safeguard to
morals and health.” You are so
right, General Lee Total
abstinence from the use of
alcoholic beverages is the
wisest, safest, and definitely
the best
Now, what does the Bible

What does God say in His

That’s what the Wisemen were—foreigners! They came from distant countries. They were • j oe {

And yet they kneeled before the manger. They offered precious gifts—gold, frankincense Thursday
and myrrh. • I™!
The world had found its Center —a Life and a Love to bring men together. 2:25-32
The visit of the Wisemen is the first step in the universal mission of the Church —to Friday

But man has been a long time accepting the lesson of the Wisemen. We are still sus-
picious of strangers, of foreigners, of our new neighbors. . Matthew
Before our day, the peoples of the earth lived in many mansions. Now we are all under 25 31-46
one roof—drawn together by modern communication and travel. ।
With the transformation of today’s world the decision over the Wisemen can no longer
be postponed. All of us, human beings from every corner of the globe, must realize our need A /
for one another, our need for love and understanding. Together we must kneel down before xA
the manger. 1
