W N. Kimbell was rushed to
Floyd Hospital Monday morn
ing after he had the misfortune
of falling and dislocating his
right hip. Mrs. Harold Bishop
and Robert Kimbell acco
mpanied him where they re
mained all day. Mrs. Joe D.
Henderson also visited her
father, W. N. Kimbell, Monday
at Floyd Hospital.
Mrs. Tizzie Lou Ridley had
as guests Sunday afternoon,
Miss Margaret Jones and Mrs.
Harold Bishop

she is recovering from a recent
illness at her home.

Selected for
Senate Plan

young Georgians Miss Brenda
Fowler of Albany’s Monroe
High School and Michael Walls
of Augusta’s Butler High
School have been named
delegates to the 1973 United
States Senate Youth Program,
to be held in Washington Feb
3-10
In a |omt announcement,
Georgia’s US Sens Herman
lalmadgc and Sam Nunn said
the two high school students
will participate in the program
and each w ill receive a S 1,000
college scholarship from the
William Randolph Hearst
Foundation, principal sponsor
of the project
Along with 100 other high
school students, two selected
from each slate and the Dis
trict of Columbia. Brenda and
Mike will serve the internship
m which the operations of the
federal government, especially
the Senate, will be observed
I he youthful delegates w ill
spend a day in the offices of
their respective senators and
meet with the President and
Vice President, with other
senators, with a justice of the
Supreme Court, and with the
Speaker ot the House of Repre
sentatives 1 his is the eleventh
year of the program.
Brenda is the daughter of
Rev and Mrs F J Fowler and
Mike is the son of Mr and Mrs
Robert < Walls
