serious accidents reported, the
sheriff said this was one of the
quietest weekends in the
history of the Chattooga
County Sheriff’s Department
"There’ll be more traffic on
the highways during the New
Year’s holidays," Sheriff
McConnell said, “and I’d like
to caution drivers to be
especially careful We ex- I
penenced two traffic fatalities
during December, and we’d
like to start the year oft with a .
clean slate."

2 Courses at
Chattooga High
Floyd Junior College (FJC)
will offer two adult education
evening courses in Summerville
during the winter quarter.
The two courses Biology
101 and Psychology 211—will
be taught Tuesdays and Thurs
days at Chattooga High School.
Biology 101 general
biology will be taught by Jack
Herring, Chattooga High
School principal, and will be a
five-credit-hour course. Classes
will be held Tuesdays from 6
p.m. to 8:10 p.m. and Thurs
days from 6 p.m. to 10:30
p.m.
Psychology 211 human
growth and development will
be taught by Mrs Betty Frank
lin, part-time instructor at FJC,
and will also be a five-hour
course. Classes will be held
from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Cost of the courses will be
$lO 50 per quarter hour per
course Registration for both
courses is scheduled Jan. 4 at
Chattooga High

50 Arrests Made
Fifty arrests were reported
by the Chattooga County
Sheriff’s Department during
the past week.

routine traffic and other
routine misdemeanors.
