HORTICULTURE AWARD (ABOREAL)
vivor of a five-way battle.
There is no clearcut pre-season
choice.
Trion is the favorite in this
quarter on the basis of a
wholly intact defensive unit re
turning from last year’s strong
finish, but the Bullpups admit
to offensive problems.
Summerville’s Falcons,
minus Larry London and
Dwight Darden, are favored
elsewhere, with six players re
turning to the defensive unit.
There are those who say
that the Summerville Broncos,
with a young outstanding
offensive backfield, need only
to shape up their interior line
to take it all.
Pennville’s Vikings, always a
challenger, are strong up front,
with a young, sharp backfield.
Menlo’s Tigers figure to be
big winners this fall if the
young players come around.
