Two hundred and fifty-one
students at Summerville Junior
High Schcrol registered a per
fect-attendance record for the
first school month, according
to John N. Hayes, visiting
teacher. Mrs. Elizabeth Martin
is school principal.

Sets Meetings
Each Tuesday
The Christian Laymen of
Chattooga County, a newly
organized group started by
men in the county to show
their interest in witnessing for,
and exalting, Jesus Christ, met
Tuesday morning, Oct. 8.
Hugh Davis, Jim Horne, and
Lee Downs, guests from The
Christian Business Men’s Com
mittee of Chattanooga, gave in
formative and interesting talks
about CBMC and expressed
their desire to have members of
The Christian Laymen of Chat
tooga County visit them during
one of their meetings.
Plans are to meet each Tues
day morning from 7 a.m. to 8
a.m. for prayer and personal
testimonies until the organiza
tion can establish definite
plans.
Men from the county are
cordially invited to attend.
Meetings will be held at the
Summerville Recreation
Center. Coffee and doughnuts
will be served each time.

LOCAL 4-H’ER HAS ENTERED 268 EXHIBITS
For the past eight years, Susan Tucker has been a 4-H
Club member. During this time, in which she has
participated in the Chattooga County and Coosa
Valley fairs, she has entered 268 exhibits and has won
$550 in prize money. Her entries include canning,
cooking, clothing, ceramics, and handicrafts. Local
4-H clubs are now observing National 4-H Club Week.
