was conveyed by Albert C. Smith

deed to secure debt and Mr. and I
Mrs. Lawrence assumed the debt so
secured.

‘Facilities’
Set Opening
This year, seasonal facilities
in Georgia’s State Parks will
not open until June 1.
According to Henry D.
Struble, director of the Parks
and Historic Sites Division, the
naturalist programs, swimming
pools, beaches, miniature golf
courses, and related con
cessions will not be opened on
weekends during May this year
as they have in the past.
Struble stated that this
change in the operations
schedule has been necessitated
by budget restraints brought
on by compliance with the Fair
Labor Standards Act.
He pointed out that state
parks year-round facilities of
picknicking, tent and trailer
camping, cottage rental, family
and group rental, horseback
riding, fishing, boating, and
. hiking will not be affected.
The schedule set up for this
summer is for the seasonal
facilities to operate six days a
week, June 1 through Labor
Day, Tuesday through Sunday,
and be closed on Mondays
unless that Monday is a legal
holiday, in which case the
seasonal facilities will be closed
the following Tuesday.
Historic sites of the Depart
ment of Natural Resources will
also be closed on Mondays
unless that Monday is a legal
holiday. In addition, all
historic sites will be closed
Thanksgiving and Christmas
days of this year.

Acceptance of an offer sub
mitted by the bid proposals will be
given In writing within thirty days
after the opening of the bid unless a
longer period is specified in the
Proposal or agreed upon by the
successful bidder. Offers of bidders
who do not hold a current Certifi
cate of Qualification, H.D. Form
482, will not be accepted unless
prequalification requirements are
specifically waived for this work.
Work will be governed by the
applicable edition of Standard
Specifications as amended by the
contract provisions. Contract time
will be as indicated. Payment will
be made to the contractor each
calendar month based on the esti
mated work complete in place as
prescribed by the Standard
Specifications. Retainage as pre
scribed by the Standard Specifi
cations will be withheld or placed
in escrow accounts at the option of
the Contractor. Final payment of
amounts withheld or deposited in
escrow will not be made until the
State Highway Engineer has
certified that the work has been
satisfactorily completed and
accepted.
Projects financed with Federal
funds will contain provisions with
regard to minimum wages, employ
ment of labor, methods of con
struction, and subletting or assign
ing the contract. On such projects,
the Department hereby notifies all
bidders that it will affirmatively
insure that, in any contract entered
into pursuant to this advertisement,
minority business enterprises will
be afforded full opportunity to
submit bids in response to this
invitation and will not be discrimi
nated against on the grounds of
race, color, or national origin in
consideration for an award.
Any Federally financed work
located within the counties of
Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Clayton and
Gwinnett, the estimated cost of
which exceeds $500,000, will be
subject to the requirements of the
Atlanta Plan. Requirements of the
Atlanta Plan will be included in the
contract special provisions where
applicable. Copies of the Atlanta
Plan are available from the same
source as plans and proposals.
Projects financed solely with
state or authority bond funds will
contain H. R. Resolution 34
requiring use of domestic materials.
This advertisement is merely an
invitation for the submission of
bids which are to be considered as
offers for performance of work by
the submitting party. The State
reserves the right to reject any or all
bids.
