Two Chattooga County resi
dents recently took part in the
Army’s Annual Service Practice
(ASP) at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Private James G. Espy, son
of Mr. and Mrs. William M.
Bryan of Trion, and Private
Danny M. Daniel, son of C. L.
Daniel of Summerville, are
among the members of the
First Battalion, Third Air
Defense Artillery, 101st Air
borne Division from Ft. Camp
bell, Ky.
They recently took part in
ASP testing, designed to keep
artillery units in a state of con
stant operational readiness.
Pvt. Daniel, an air defense
artilleryman with the battal
ion’s Battery C, entered the
Army in July 1977. He is a
1977 graduate of Trion High
School.
Pvt. Espy, an assistant
gunner with the battalion at
Ft. Campbell, entered the
Army in July 1977. He is also a
1977 graduate of Trion High
School.

special apron made by Mrs. Myrtle
Gregg. Those participating in the cele

The annual district conven
tion of the Church of God of
Prophecies continues this
evening at the Cartersville
church beginning at 7 p.m.
The district includes Chat
tooga, Gordon, Bartow, Floyd
and Polk counties, according to
Eugene B. Richardson, district
Ann Parker, Grace McDaniel and
Shirley Thrasher. They served the stu
dents a St. Valentine meal consisting of
tacos, tossed salad, cheese, fruit, Valen
tine cake and milk.
