Mrs. Eck, whose husband
heads the Temuco Theological
Institute, where she also
teaches, will speak about the
unprecedented Church growth
| in South America and about
the Alliance Leadership train
ing at the Institute. She says,
“One of the most important
tasks for missionaries today is
the preparation of well
qualified men and women to
serve the rapidly expanding
number of churches overseas
and also to serve as teachers
in Bible Schools and
Theological Institutions.”
The Rev. Vaughn has been
in Indonesia since 1975 and
reports the intense persecu
tion of Christians among the
| tribes of Irian Jaya. He will
speak about the tribal warfare
and political insurrection
among tribes-people of the
Baliem Valley, the resultant
burning of churches and kill
ing of Christians in Irian
Jaya.
Curios and slides will be
displayed throughout the
week that are relative to the
South American and Irian
J iaya trades, customs and peo
ple.

day.
Chantel McGuire Wins
Pageant In Chattanooga
Chantel Regina McGuire,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Milton McGuire Jr. of Sum
merville, was recently crown
ed “Cameo Girl Queen’’ in
Chattanooga.
She competed with girls
from Georgia, Tennessee,
Alabama and Kentucky. She
modeled in party dress,
sleepwear, tea room modeling,
rainwear, sportswear, coat
and cape removal, evening
gown, swimwear and street
dress modulini;. Chantel com
peted in the talent segment by
Eerforming a disco dance and
oop baton routine, among
other things. She was also re
quired to do a television com
mercial.
She received eight first
place trophies, three second
place trophies, and one third
place trophy. She also won the
over-all Sweef)st,akes Award
and trophy, along with being
chosen the “gameo Girl
Queen.” Several local mer
chants hel;l)ed sponsor her.
She will attend competi
tion in Baton Rouge, La., this
August for the overall interna
tional title of Cameo Girl and
Sweepstake winner. Chantel is
