Jack Campbell
Jack Osborn “Jug Head"
Campbell, 29, a resident of
44-First St., Trion, passed
away on Friday, Aug. 28, in
Meridian, Miss., from injuries
sustained in a truck accident.
He was born in Chattooga
County on March 20, 1952,
son of the late Willie Morris
Campbell.
.Vrr Campbell was
employed as a truck driver, a
veteran of the Viet Nam War,
and was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death
by his maternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Akins.
Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. (iliné{a Campbell of
Trion; one daughter, Miss
Robin Lynn Campbel] of
Trion; one son, Larry Eu‘fne
Campbell of Trion; mother,
Mrs. Doris Akins Ridenhour
of Trion; two brothers, Tony
Campbell of Trion and Ken
neth Campbell of Mt. Holly,
N. C.; paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jess Campbell
of Trion; and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Monday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m,
from the chapel of Erwin-

ed away Wednesday, Aug. 26,
in a Chattanooga hospital.
Mr. Chester was born in
Ellijay on Feb. 5, 1920, son of
the rate William Bartley
Chester and Eddie Hix
Chester.
He was a member of Trion
First B(:rtist Church. He was
a retired employee of Riegel
Textile Corp. with 25 years
service and a member of the
Rit-fiel Quarter Century Club.

by his daughter, Doris E.
Chester, on lgec 3, 1972,
Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Mad(fiine Chester of
Trion; one sister, Mrs. Ruby
Peek of Henagar, Ala.: two
brothers, Bill Chester and
John Chester, both of
Henagar, Ala.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Friday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m.
from Trion First Baptist
Church with the Rev. L.
Frank Welch and the Rev. Jim
Cordell officiating. Interment
was in West Hill Cemetery,

Mrs. Vera Mae Cooger
Hutchenson, 62, of 6 May St.,
Rome, passed away Syatur
day, Aug. 22, at 8:30 p.m.
Mrs. Hutchenson was
born in Chattooga County on
Aug. 2K, 1918, daughter of the
late James O. Cooper and
Ruth Cummings Cooper.
She was a member of the
Church of Christ, She was a
retired textile employee.
Surviving are her mother,
Mrs. Ruth Cooper of Sum
merville; one son, Billy Hardy
of Trion; two brothers, Ray
mond D). Cooper of Atlanta
and Mike Ri߻y Cooper of
Summerville; two grand
children; and several nieces
and nephews
Funeral services were
held Sunday, Aug. 23, at 2

Luther Edward McClead,
84, a resident of Reute 1,
Trion, passed away Sunday,
Aug. 30, at 9:30 p.m. in Chat
tooga County Hospital.
Mr. McClead was born in
Richie County, Va., on Feb. 2,
1897, son of the late John M.
McClead and Josephine
Adams McClead.
He was a retired
maintenance worker. He was a
member of Pennville Church
of Christ.
Surviving are his wife.

Millard Riley Sr., 86, a resi

a.m, in Shepherd Hill Nursing
Home.
Mr. Riley was born in
Chattooga County on June 11,
1895, son of the late Thomas
Riley and Susie Shiflett Riley.
He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Mount
Olive Methodist Church.
Mr. Riley was preceded in

Cothran rliley.
Surviving are one son,
M. F. Riley §r. of Trion; two
sisters, Mrs. Edna Parham of
Fort Payne, Ala., and Mrs.
Maude Beavers of LaFayette;

1933, son of the late Gordon
Rickett and Annie Ruth
Quails Rickett.
He was a veteran of World
War 11.

Skeet
Shoot
Planned
A skeet shoot will be held
on Labor Day, Sept. 7, at the
Cherokee County (Ala.)
Bohunters Archery Range.
Registration will begin at
9:30 a.m. (Alabama time) with
the shoot beginning at 10 a.m,
(Alabama time).
There will be three divi
sions — men's, ladies and
juniors. Trophies will be given
for first, second and third
place.
Refreshments will be
available, and door prizes will
be given out.
The event is sponsored by
the Little River Turkey
