NEW PREACHER
David L. Hortman became the
new preacher at the Lyerly
Church of Christ on Sunday,
Aug. 23. Hortman received a
Bachelor of Science degree in
education from Western Mon
tana College in 1974. His
ministerial study was at
Sunset School of Preaching in
Lubbock, Texas, graduating
in 1980. He graduated from
the Sunset School of Missions
this year. Prior to coming to
Lyerly, Hortman pr(-ache(ffor
a time in Oregon. Hortman,
his wife Barbara and their
10-month-old daughter Ann
Catherine have move to the
county. Services at Lyerly
Church of Christ are: 10 a.m.,
Sunday Bible class; 11 a.m,,
Sunday worship; 7:30 p.m.,
Sunday service; and 7:30 p.m.,
Wednesday Bible study.

daughter of Thelma Ownby of
Summerville and Terry Hall
of Cedar Bluff, Ala., recently
celebrated her eighth birthday
in Panama City Beach, Fla.,
with her grandmother, Mrs.
Glenn Hall. Upon returning
home, Amanda also
celebrated her birthday at a
skating party. Amanda’s cake
was decorated with a
strawberry shortcake doll.
