Thanks For Care
Dear Editor,
Please let me take this opportunity to
thank the Chattooga County Ambulance Ser
vice and the emergency room staff of the Chat
tooga County Hospital for their kind and effi
cient care involving my sister, Linda Ledford.
Last Wednesday at 4:30 a.m. she went into
labor and I left my home to carry her to Hut
cheson Memorial Hospital. I ran out of gas
near our local hospital and the hospital staff
and ambulance service quickly took over and
rushed her to Hutcheson.
We are greatly indebted and do sincerely
appreciate the manner in which we were
treated in this time of crisis. Incidentally, Lin
da gave birth later that day to a 7-pound boy,
who was named Michael Jason.
Sincerely,
Jerry Crowe

Marinated Lamb Steaks
As a general rule, lamb
takes well to hearty red wines
such as Pinot Noir or
Cabernet Sauvignon. But, as a
specific delight, lamb steaks
grilled over wood or broiled in
the oven excel with a fine,
bright Sonoma Zinfandel.
Californians celebrate this
matching because of its good
taste ang also because of their
pride and pleasure in this uni
que California wine.
To enjoy the same celebra
tion of good things together,
you can pair this recipe for
wine-marinated lamge le
steaks and the full, smoot.fi
taste of Sonoma Vineyards
Zinfandel.

Great Fans, Team
Dear Sir,
I would like to take this opportunity to
thank the great Chattooga fans for giving the
tremendous support to the Chattooga Ingians
as they played a victorious game against the
LaFayette Ramblers Friday night. There was
an extra-large crowd there in spite of the rain,
and they cheered with a lot ofp enthusiasm. I
would like to urge them to Keep On Keeping
On! We need to open the region competition
with a big victory over Rockmart this week.
Ron Williams and his coaching staff have
been like General George Washington and his
officers during the early stages of the
American Revolution. Our boys fiad to learn
some combat duty at Villa Rica, which was
like Bunker Hill to them. We lost a close battle
there, but we showed we could attack. Then
we won a decisive victory over LaFayette, in
much the same way as Washington and his
men took Trenton — in whicfi Chattooga
dominated all the important aspects of tfie
game.
But, just like Washington and his men at
Valley Forge, our Chattooga troops had to go
through a lot of sacrifice and discipline in
order to get ready for LaFayette. The coaches
made some very good adjustments with the
team, and most important of all, they
somehow established agligh winning morale in
the team. The Chattooga Indians are a young
team in some respects, but they are not the
type team to look for youth to {;e an excuse,
They don’t look for excuses, they look for ac
tion.
Congratulations to the second string
players who are seen along the sidelines. They
deserve a lot of credit for Friday's victory
because they constantly challenge the first
string players in practice and try to give their
best to give the team the kinds of tests they
need in practice to prepare them for the Friday
night games. Also they are ready to go in for
starting ilayers who get injured or tired.
Our cheerleaders are doing a tremendous
job of leading the student bog of the school
in cheers, and the home crowdvis responding
well to the cheerleaders. Congratulations to
Phyllis Payne and her girls for developing
another outstanding squad of cheerleagers.
Certainly they are pretty, but they are also
talented and highly-motivated.
The Chattooga Indian Marching Band pro
duced a very entertaining halftime show and
once again gave the ghattooga people a
chance to see how talented some of our young
students are in the field of music. Thank you,
Mr. Beckton and Mr. Fisher.
Hope to see all of you as we continue the
revolution at Rockmart.
Sincerely,
John N. Hayes
