Georgians can expect hot
ter and drier conditions for
most of June, according to the
latest 30-day outlook from the
agricultural weather service
center in Auburn, Ala,
The northern third of the
state is expected to have
warmer than normal while the
rest of the state will ex
perience the traditional climb
to summer temperatures.
Rainfall has been spotty
the last few weeks of May,
skipping some farms entirely.
June's outlook doesn't look
promisini with drier than nor
mal weather e)l(lpect,ed.
June rainfall totals normal
ly range from 3.5 to 4.5 inches
on most farms with
temperatures in the upper 80s
to low 90s.
Risinil temperatures will
increase heat stress problems
on poultry, swine, cattle and
other livestock. Periods of hot
and humid weather can cause
