an energy survey and
weatherization materials to
qualified families.
To qualify a ?erson must
be a resident of Chattoo,
County, meet certain elderq;
fixed-income requirements
and meet low-income re
quirements.
According to Lawrence
Konrad, director of the pro
gram in the four-county
region, an excess of 100
household from Chattooga
Earticipated in the program
st year.
The guidelines are based
on the income standards set
by the Office of Management
ela)ndc Budget in Washington,
The TVA works in con
junction with Georgia Power
and the North Georgia Rural
Electric Membership Corp. to
¥rovide the services for needy
amilies.
Sue Elliott, director of
EOA in Summerville, said
TVA will conduct an energy
survey of the home and bids
are then contracted. TVA
pays the contractor directly
through funds for the pro
gram. The recipient pays back
the loan through monthlfir
payments in the power bill,
depending on income levels.

servancy is hosting a
southeastern regional con
ference on acid rain June
24-25 at the Colony Square
Hotel in Atlanta.
Viewpoints will be
presented by industry,
academia, state and local
%overnments. the U.S. and
