When local officials discovered the abandoned car of
Wayne Bradford near Cloudland Thursday, Aug. 19,
they found the driver’s seat and side covered in blood.
Bradford, a native of Dade County, has rglPortedly
been missing since Wednesday, Aug. 18. Tests on
blood samples taken from the car have identified the
blood as human blood. Additional tests are underway
to determine the blood type.

been erected on Interstate-75. The sign is
located just a short distance from the

Tomorrow In Local Forest

opening of a special use area
on the Armuchee District,
Chattahoochee National
Forest for the i)urpose of ob
taining free fuelwood.
The area will officially be
open for cuttini(with a per
mit) Sept. 3. Bullard explained
the special use area is'set up
to help conserve energy by
providmg heating and cook
ing fuelwood to individuals
who wish to cut their own
Bestsellers Are Available At Library
The Chattooga County
Library carries a large number
of the books on the current
top 15 bestseller list of fiction
and nonfiction publications.
Of the top 15 fiction books
on the list, the local library
has 10 of the books. Most of
the bestseller books are check
ed out and have a waiting list
of others wanting to read
them, noted library personnel.
Two of the top 15 are on order
and the remaining three will
be ordered at a later date.

books on the list, the library
has 11 of the books. Two of

The Trion and Chattooga
County school systems have a
total of 14 provisional or pro
bationary teachers this year.
The provisional
probationary teachers are
allowed to teach for up to a
year without state certifica
tion, pendini passage of the

test and a one-year evaluation.

Local authorities became
involved in the incident when
they recovered Bradford’s red
1980 Ford Mustang around
noon Thursday, Aug. 19. The
car was found in a remote area
on the State Line Road near
Cloudland. The vehicle was
parked off the road with all
the windows rolled up and the
doors locked. The car's right
front tire was stuck in a small
ditch near an old house.

The Big Hoxie Brothers
Circus is coming to Summer
ville for one day only, Sunday,
Sept. 26.
Hoxie Brothers is one of
the four largest traveling
tented circuses in America to
day. The Gigantic big top
seats over 3,000 persons per
performance, and will conduct
two performance Sept. 26 at 3
F.m. The Circus will arrive ear
y Sunday morning at the Jct.
of Hwy. 114 and U. S. 27.

a slightly lower rate for

disappearance. In addition,
the resident is believed to
have been. with Bradford

last time Bradford was

is lodged in the Chattooga
County Jail in connection
with a bad check warrant in
the county and is being held

an employee of DuPont in
Chattanooga, Tenn., where he
had workefi some 15 years.
