DEATHS
Elgin Logan
Elgin Logan, 64, of 43
Park Avenue, Trion, passed
away Sunday, March 20, at
6:50 a.m,
Mr. Logan was born in
Chattooga County Mag 26,
1918, son of the late Frank
Logan and Lula Kimbell
Logan. Mr. Logan was a
member of the Northside
Church of Christ, a veteran of
World War 11, a member of
VFW Post 6688 and an in
surance salesman for National
Life & Accident Insurance Co.
He was preceded in death
by two brothers, Hinton
Logan and Charles Logan.
Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Betty Logan of Trion;
one son, Kim Logan of Dalton;
four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Tyler,
Mrs. Frances Pledger and
Mrs. Kathleen Phillips, all of
Summerville, and Miss Mary
Jo Logan of Trion; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, March 22, at 2 p.m.
from the chapel of Lane
Funeral Home with Minister
Ron Fisher and Minister
Walter E. Neal officiating. In
terment was in Green Hills
Memory Garden.
Active pallbearers were
Hoyt Wil?iams, Charlie
Logan, Ralph Tripp, Bill
Shelby, Scott Gayler and Pete
Mattis.
Honorary pallbearers were
agents and staff of the Na
tional Life & Accident In
surance Company, Rome
District.

rangements.

Marvin Grigsby and Georgia
Hefner Grigsby. She was a
member of Bethlehem Baptist
Church. She was preceded in
death by a sister, Mrs. Mae
Parsons.
Survivir}lg are her husband,
Vergil M. Tudor of Route 1,
Lyerl|y; one daughter, Mrs,
Lucille Crosby of Raleigh,
N. C.; two sons, Charles Tugor
of Route 1, Lyerly and Melvin
Tudor of Trion; three sisters,
Mrs. Grace Underwood, Mrs.
Fannie Allmon and Mrs. Sally
Dawson, all of LaFayette; six
grandchildren; one great
grandchild; and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Monday, March 21, at 2 p.m.
from the chapel of Lane
Funeral Home with the Rev.
Con Kinsey and the Rev. J. B.
Cantrell officiating. Inter
ment was in Lyerly éemet,ery.

Crappie Tourney Set
The Chattooga County
Linebackers club is sponsor
ing a crappie tournament
April 10 at J.R.'s Marina,
formerly Little River Marina.
The tournament will run from
6:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. (CST).
Entry fee for the tourna
ment will be $lO a person.
Prizes will be first place, 26
percent; second place, 10 per
cent and third place 5 percent.
Seven prizes of S2O plus a
trophy for' the biggest str
inger caught by a 12-year-old
or younger fisherman.
Entry forms must be
postmar{ed no later than
April 7 or may be brought to
the site on the day of the tour
nament and turned in before
fishing.
Winners will be judged on
total weight of five crappie.
One weigh-in per fisherman.
