NOTICE
FOR BIDS
Pursuant to Ga. Laws 1956, pg. 2899 as amend
ed by Ga. Laws 1977, pg. 3855 notice is hereby
given by the Commissioner of Chattooga County,
Georgia, that sealed bids will be received by the
Commissioner on April 1, 1983, at 10:30 o’clock
a.m. in the office of the Commissioner, Chattooga
County Courthouse, Summerville, Georgia. Said
bids must be sealed and the words ‘“Sealed Bid-
Paving” written across the outside of the
envelope and received by the Commissioner of
Chattooga County on or before April 1, 1983, at
which time and place the bids will be opened.
Bids shall be for the letting and sub-letting of
all asphalt paving to be contracted by Chattooga
County, Georgia, from April 15, 1983, until
December 31, 1983. The specifications and exact
descriptions of the quantities and locations to be
determined by the Commissioner and such paving
shall conform to the Department of Transporta
tion Plans and Specifications. Bids must be divid
ed as follows, to-wit:
1. Bituminous Tack Coat
Price per gallon
2. Asphaltic Concrete “G” or “H”
Group 1 or 2 Incl. Bit. Matl.
Price per ton
3. Asphaltic Concrete Leveling
Incl. Bit. Matl.
Price per ton '
The bids as submitted at the bid price shall in
clude placement of the above described materials
on any road in Chattooga County, Georgia, to be
determined by the Commissioner. Any modifica
tion increase or fuel adjustment for said bid must
be specified or none will be accepted. The con
tractor shall be required to give a bond in the
amount of $500,000.00, with one good and solvent
security, for the faithful performance of the con
tract and to indemnify the County for any
damages occasioned by a failure to perform same
within the prescribed time. Said bond shall be
given in accordance with Ga. Code 23-1704. In ad
dition, upon the execution of the contract to the
successful bidder, the contractor shall be re
quired to give bond in the amount of $500,000.00
in accordance with Ga. Code 23-1705 for the pay
ment and performance of his duties under said
contract. Work must begin under said contract
within ten days notice by the Commissioner that
acceptance of said bid is approved. The Commis
sioner reserves the right to accept and/or reject
any and all bids as submitted.
