NOTICE OF BOND ELECTION
TO THE REGISTERED VOTERS OF
CHATTOOGA COUNTY, GEORGIA:
NOTICE is hereby fiven that on the 3rd
day of May, 1983, an election will be held at
the regular polling places in all the election
districts of Chmmqn County, Georgia, at
which time there will be submitted to the
gulllflqd voters of said County for their
etermination the guention of whether or not
the following bonds shall be issued for the
following described purpose:
Jailhouse Bonds in the principal amount
of Nine Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Dollars ($925,000) for the purpose of
building, constructing and equipping a new,
Jailhouse, acquiring the property necessary
therefore and paying the expenses incident
thereto: and
The bonds of said issue shall be dated
June 1, 1983, shall be in the denomination of
$5,000 each, shall bear interest at a rate or
rates not to exceed 9.125% per annum,
payable on December 1, 1983, and semian-:
nually thereafter on June 1 and December 1
in each year, and the principal of said hond
issue shall mature on .run(‘ 1, as follows:

The bonds shall be made subject to
redemption prior to maturity, to the extent
permitted by law, upon the terms and condi
tions to be determined by the Commissioner
of Chattooga County; and
The rrinclpal of and the interest on the
bonds of such issue shall be payable in lawful
money of the United States of America at a
paying nient bank which will be designated
prior to the issuance of said Bonds.
The ballots to be used at said election with
respect to the issuance or nonissuance of said
bond issue shall have written or printed
thereon substantially the following:

The several places for voting will be at the
regular and established voting precincts of
the Election Districts of Chattooga County,
Georgia, and the voting polls will be open
from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., EDST, on the
date fixed for said election.
Those qualified to vote at said election
shall be determined in all respects in accor
dance with the Georgia Election Code
This notice is given pursuant to a resolu
tion of the Commissioner of Chattooga Coun
ty, Georgia, adopted on the 28th day of
March, 1983,

Pursuant to Act of Legislature, (Ga. Laws 1982,
page 4084) notice is hereby given by the Commis
sioner of Chattooga County of a Public Auction to
be held at the Public Work Camp, Highland
Avenue, Summerville, Georgia on Friday, April 15,
1983 at 10:00 o’clock a.m. Chattooga County will
offer for sale certain personal property designated
as unserviceable for County use and consisting of
various junk automobiles, parts and equipment.
Each of these items may be viewed at the Chat
tooga County Public Work Camp.
The successful bidder will be required to
deposit 10 percent of his bid amount on the date
of sale and the balance in cash upon acceptance
of the bid. All items must be removed from the
Work Camp within 10 days of notice of accep
tance of the bid.
The Commissioner reserves the right to accept
or reject any and all bids and waive all
technicalities.

A Chattooga Countg' resi
gent has been charge wi:h
amaging private property
over %lieg wgekend and then
fleeing the scene.
Authorities identified the
resident as 24-&ear-old Terry
Dyer of the Wayside Com
munity. He was arrested Mon
day and charged with criminal
damage to property in the se
cond degree.
Dyer is being held in the
county jail without bond as he
was out on appeal bond for
murder at the time of the inci
dent and that bond has since
been revoked.
According to a warrant
taken by Curtis Austin of 11
Ramey St. in Summerville,
the incident occurred between
5:30 and 6 p.m. Saturday.
Dyer grove his 1968
gickup truck into a concrete
lock wall at the Austin
residence and then fled the
scene, leaving the truck,
reports said. The warrant said
the accident ruined some 30
blocks in the wall and repairs
