Claude Bagley
Claude Bagley Jr., 61, of
110 Nixon St., cgummerville.

He was born in Chattooga
County Sept. 25, 1921, son of
the late James Claude Baglely

agley. Mr. Bagley was presi
dent of the Chevron Oil 80. in
Summerville for 35 years. He
was active in the Bolw:l Scouts
and the little league. He was a
member and deacon of Sum
merville First Baptist Church
and was a veteran of World
War 11, and a member and
past Commander of the
American Legion Post 129.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Claude Bagley Jr. of
Summerville; mother, Mrs.
Farice Bailey of Summerville;
two daughters, Mrs. Claudia
Dotson and Mrs. Cynthia
Stinson, both of Summerville;
one son, Jim Bagley of Sum
merville; one brother, Cordle
Bagley of Cedartown; three
gandsons. Justin, Bryan and
hris Stinson, all of Summer
ville; and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, March 29, at 11 a.m.
from the chapel of Lane
Funeral Home with Dr. Jack
Colwell officiating. Interment
was in the Summerville
Cemetery.

Commerce Street for pedestrian crosswalk signs.
Poles to be set 8 feet six inches in depth in 26” X

The City will furnish poles, anchor bolts and
signs.
All bids must be sealed and marked ‘‘Sealed
Bid” on the envelope, and received at City Hall no
later than 5:00 p.m. on April 8, 1983. Bids will be
opened by the Mayor and Council at 7:00 p.m. on
Monday, April 11, 1983 at City Hall.
All work to be guaranteed in writing for twelve
(12) months.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject
any and all bids.

mother, Mrs. Betty Jo Haney

daughter, Miss Shannon

one sister, Mrs. Brenda

Gordon W. Chandler Sr.,
95, a resident of Route 2.
Trion, passed away Tueadn{.
March 22, at 7:40 p.m. in
Chattooga County Hospital.
He was born in Chattooga
County Sept. 30, 1887, son of
the late Minor B. Chandler
and Sallie Wedgeworth
Chandler.
Mr. Chandler was a retired
carpenter and a member of the
East Trion Church of God. He
was preceded in death by his
wife, Grace T. Chandler, Jan.
12, 1976; three sons, Flavis
Chandler, Gordon W,
Chandler Jr., and Durward
Chandler; and two daughters,
Arah Bruce and Carolyn
Chandler.
Surviving are his two
daughters, Mrs. Earl Parker
and Mrs. J. D, Scoggins, both
of Route 2, Trion; two sons,
Daughterty Chandler of
Albertville, Ala., and Johnny
Chandler of Gadsden, Ala.;
one brother, Hubert Chandler
of Summerville; 21 grand
children; and a number of
great-grandchildren; nieces
and nephews.

Thursday, March 24, at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Garmon was born in
Chattooga County Jan. 19,
1906, daughter of the late
James Cummings and Alice
Quinn Cummings. She was a
life-long member of the Nor
thside shurch of Christ, where
she taught Sunday School for
a number of years. She was a
retired manager of the Trion
Washateria.
She was preceded in death
by a son, Dr. William
Lawrence Garmon, Feb. 14,
1982.
Survivors include her one
daughter, Mrs. Al “Barbara’
Sisemore of LaFayette; two
sons, Lowell Garmon of
Albany and Harold Garmon of
Denver, Colo.; two sisters,
Mrs. Chunnia Williams and
Mrs. Ruth Cooper, both of
Summerville; one brother,
John Cummings of Sacramen
to, Calif.; 14 grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hardy was born in

butt. She was a member of
Summerville First Baptist
Church, a member of O.E.S.
Chapter 434, American
Legion and VFW Auxiliary

She was preceded in death
by a daughter, Lillian
Ferguson; a son, Charlie Har
dy; and a grandson, James
(Pep) Peppers.

70, a resident of 357 Walnut

day, March 24, at 9:20 a.m. in
Redmond Park Hospital.
He was born in Gordon
County July 18, 1912, son of
the late Allen J. Holt Sr. and
Georgia Waters Holt. Mr.
Holt was a retired textile
worker, a member of the
Masons, Eastern Star, Scout
Master for 20 years, and a
member of the %‘n’on United
Methodist Church. He was

Surviving are his one
daughter, Mrs. Anita Venn of

Mr. Owens was a member of

He was preceded in death by
