Pursuant to Act of Legislature, (Ga. Laws 1982,
page 4084) notice is hereby given by the Commis
sioner of Chattooga County of a Public Auction to
be held at the Public Work Camp, Highland
Avenue, Summerville, Georgia on Friday, April 15,
1983 at 10:00 o’clock a.m. Chattooga County will
offer for sale certain personal property designated
as unserviceable for County use and consisting of
various junk automobiles, parts and equipment.
Each of these items may be viewed at the Chat
tooga County Public Work Camp.
The successful bidder will be required to
deposit 10 percent of his bid amount on the date
of sale and the balance in cash upon acceptance
of the bid. All items must be removed from the
Work Camp within 10 days of notice of accep
tance of the bid.
The Commissioner reserves the right to accept
or reject any and all bids and waive all
technicalities. ;

soil erosion and other natural
resource problems,
Peter C. Myers, chief of
USDA's Soil Conservation
Service, said more than 300
persons are alread{ perform
ing a wide range of volunteer
services on a part-time or full
time basis.
“We look forward to plac
ing more volunteers during
1983 in areas of need to assist
local soil and water conserva
tion districts,” Myers said.
Volunteer areas include:
clerical, information, conser
vation planning, surveying,
conservation education, draf
ting. magping, roadside
seeding and revegetation and
contracting assistance,” he
said.
“Age is not a factor,”’

Vincent Martin, Chattooga
High School gu(iult.o. is a
member of the Berea College
men's baseball team. The
junior athlete is the son of Mr,
and Mrs. Lovett Martin,
Route 1 Box 373, Lyerly.
The meén's baseball team is
coached by Jack Hall, a Berea
College graduate. The team is
composed of four seniors, five
juniors, one sophomore and
eight freshmen. The season
began March 16 and the team
now has a record of nine losses
and two wins. There are nine
playing dates remaining.
