Bank Employees Contribute To Hospital
Emoyees of the Farmers and Merchants
B in Summerville have contributed
money to renovate one room of the Chat
tooga County Hospital and urge residents
around the county to join in the project.
Renovation of two other rooms have
already been financed bfi’ the staff doctors

From FBI School March 21
Former Summerville resi
dent Johnny Bass was
graduated from the 144th ses
sion of the National FBI
Academy in Quantico, Va.,
March 21.
Bass, an investigator with
the LaFayette Police Defpa.rt
ment, has been in law enforce
ment since 1974 and has been
with the LaFayette Police
Department since 1979. He is
a graduate of Chattooga High.
His father is Bill Bass of
Summerville.
Hubert Williams, president
of the Police Foundation
located in Washington,
delivered the principle atfdress
and was joined on the dais by
elected class spokesman during
graduation services.
The tiradual:ing officers of
the 144th Session represented
48 states, the District of Col
umbia, Puerto Rico, five U. S.
military and three federal
civilian organizations, and
eight foreign nations: Argen
tina, Australia, Barbados,
Canada (two attendees), Costa
Rica, Egypt, England and
Thailand.
Established in July, 1935,
as a police training school, the
FBI National Academy has
evolved from a pilot class of 23
police officers to the current 11
week program offered quarter

law enforcement, and approx

behavioral and forensic
sciences.
Egg Hunt
At Local Lake
An egg hunt will be held
Easter Sunday at Jarrett Lake
beginning at 2 o'clock. Dozens

Other prizes will be award
ed for the golden egg and fin
ding the most eggs in two age
divisions.
All children are invited to

Singing Slated

Sunrise Service
Planned
An Easter Sunrise Service
will be held Sunday morning
beginning at 6:30 at the
Macedonia Cemetery on Hwy.
337 in the Teloga community.
The service is presented by the
Beersheba Presbyterian
