Price. After the welcome to
athletes by Phil Cavin the
lighting of the torch was held
with a relay of Steed Hart,
Donny Gazaway, Anthony
Bray and Terrell Ammons.

After the rest of the open
ing ceremonies the kids were
chomping at the bits to get
started to try to win. Accor
ding to one participant, ‘‘This
was his favorite day of the
year.” He also said he liked to
compete against other kids.

This standing lor;f jumper makes a good jump at the
Chattooga ff)eci Olympics held last Wednesday at
Chatto‘gga igh School. Over 40 Special Olympians
competed in the event. A rain fell before and s£oradical
ly during the contest but failed to dampen the spirits
of the kids and volunteers.
