Stars Sign With
Emmanuel
On Sunday afternoon,
March 23, CHS basketball
stars Kim Adams and Eddie
Harris signed full basketball
schlarshi}gs with Emmanuel
College. Emmanuel is a Junior
College located in Franklin
Springs. Emmanuel is a
member of the Georgia Junior
College Athletic Association
(GJCAA). This season Em
manuel finished fourth in the
GJCAA with an overall record
of 18-12. They are coached by
Jim Guney.
Eddie and Kim were both
named to several area All-Star
teams. They were also very in
strumental in leading the Chat
tooga Indians to a 21-7 overall
record and the 7-AAA Region
Championship.

To Hold
Breakfast
The Chattooia High
baseball team will hold a hot
cake breakfast Saturday, April
12, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at
McDonald's in Summerville.
The money generated will
aid the fund-raisinito pay for
new uniforms for the baseball
team.
Tickets for the all-you-can
eat breakfast can be bought at
Colbert Real Estate in
Summerville.
Berrg College Basketball
Coach Peter Dees has been
named the NAIA Collefie
Coach of the Year by the
Atlanta Tipoff Club, announc
ed Bob Pearson, athletic direc
tor. Dees received an honorar‘y;
glaque at the annual Naismit
anfilet on April 3 in Atlanta.

as a complete surprise to him.
“It's nice to be recognized in
anything you do, especially by

Atlanta Tipoff Club. I'm proud
that our team had such a good
year,"
The Berry College Vikings
finished the season with a
record of 21-12, a turnaround
from last year's 12-8. Dees also
gets credit for having turned in
the third best win-loss record in
the school's history. It was a
close season for the Vikings,
winning four games by a single
point and another four by two
points.
“Those games could have
gone either way," sa‘ys Dees.
"“But we had a lot of players
who were able to hit the big
shot."
Dees says that the team's
success was connected to team
work, playing experience and
consistency. "It was an overall
team effort. We had played
together last year and it show
ed. 1 don't believe I've ever
coached a team that played
this consistently before. Xnd
