€arl Bramlett
Earl B. Bramlett, 70, a resi
dent of Route 1, Lyerly, pass
ed away Tuesday, April 8, at
his residence. ¢
Mr. Bramlett was born in
Cherokee County, Ala., Aug.
11, 1915, son of the late Abe
and Guy Alice Hurley
Bramlett. Mr. Bramlett was
self-employed.
Surviving are two
daufl:l:ers. Mrs. Sandra
Copeland and Mrs. Teresa Col
ey, both of Summerville; five
sons, Jerry Wayne Bramlett of
Rome, Earl Lamar Bramlett
and Eddie Leon Bramlett, Ran
;ifi Marshall and Glen Marshall
of Summerville; two sisters,
Mrs. Jewell Timmerman and
Mrs. NancY Hatcher, both of
Summerville; one brother,
Robert Lee Bramlett of
LaFayette; 10 grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews
also survive.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday (today), April 10, at
2 p.un. from the Hill Chapel of
Lane Funeral Home witgethe
Rev. Sanford Deßerry and the
Rev. Jerry Pope officiating.
Interment will be in Sum
merville Cemetery.

Herman Craig
Herman Vanus Craig, 82, of
Route 5, Lafayette, Naomi
Community, passed away at
his residence early Monday
morning, March 31.
Mr. Era‘lg was born Nov. 7,
1903 to the late Bob and
Elmaria Craig. 2
He was born in Union Coun
ty. He lived in the Trion area
for several years before moving
to LaFayette where he has
resided for the past 27 years.
He was employed by Barwick
Carpet Mills before retirement.
He was lin‘et:eded in death by a
son, J. Herman Craig, in 1973,
and Mrs. Stella Craig in 1975.
He was a member of Sun
nyside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Pearl Mitchell Holbrook
Craig; five daughters, Mrs.
Bonnie Mae Lowrance and
Mrs. Sarah Treadaway, both of
Trion, Mrs. Corina Hurley of
Summerville, Mrs. Martha
Sims of Blarisville and Louise
Brown of Lafa‘yette; a son,
J.D. Craig of Trion; two
brothers, Dock Craig of Trion
and Tom Craig of Roanoke,
Ala.; 27 grandchildren; 50
great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews
also survive. —

Tuesday, April 1, at 3 g.m. at
the Sunnyside Baptist Church
with the Rev. Mickey Skates
and the Rev. Ray Parker

Interment was in Old Trion
Cemetery.

Ann Arbor, Mich., while yet a
young man, united with the
AME Methodist Church there.
He was a mechanic by trade
with Greghound Bus Com
gany. and was preceded in

Arbor, Mich.; two sisters,
Marie Housch and Annie Ruth
Housch of Summerville; one
brother, John C. Housch of
Chattanooga, Tenn.; one

Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Mrs.
Robbie Hall of Ann Arbor,
Mich.

3, at 3:15 a.m. from injuries
sustained from an automobile

He was born in Floyd Coun

Robert L. Timmons, 91, of
Route 1, Trion, Mountain View
Community, passed away
Wednesdfiy morning, April 2,
in the Hutcheson Medical
Center, Fort Oglethorpe.
Mr. Timmons was born
Aug. 27, 1894 in Cherokee
County, Ala., son of the late
Levi and Eura Jane
McWhorter Timmons. He was
a retired farmer and was
K;eceded in death by his wife,
rs. Tavie Timmons in 1982.
Surviving are four
dau\shters. Mrs. Ola
McWhorter of Route 1, Trion,
Mrs. Annie Lee Dodson of
Macon, Mrs. Alice Ward of
Route 2, Summerville and Mrs.
Eura Nell Maton of Route 1,
Trion; four sons, R. B. Tim
mons of Summerville, Thomas
Lee Timmons, J. B. Timmons
and Arley Timmons, all of
Route 1, 'I?ll-ion; one sister, Mrs.
Lula Frazier of Rainsville, Ala.;

Rain May
Stop Wildfire,
Says Hall
Chattogga Count! Forest
Ranger Fred Hall said officials
will wait and see if Tuesday's
rain puts a damper on the
wildfires that have plagued the
region recently.
Hall said about one inch of
rain was reported at the Forest
Service rain guage on Hwy. 27
Tuesday. The National
Weather Service re?orts the
Rome area has a rainfall deficit
of about 10 inches this year.
Hall said Wednesday's
wind might dry the vegetation,
making the forests timber dry’
again.
“It's a wait and seefiame at
this goint," he said. “The next
couple of weeks will tell.”
