State Revenue Commis
sioner Marcus Collins announc
ed April 7 that net collections
for tfie month of March total
ed $318,954,307.50 compared
to $293,212,517.56 for I\Xarch
of 1985, an increase of
$25,741,789.94. The percen
tage increase is 8.8 percent.
For the first nine months of
Fiscal Year 1986, collections
totaled $3,400,834,534.58 com
pared to $3,106,770,262.36 for
the first nine months of Fiscal
Year 1985, an increase of
$294,064,292.22. The percen
tage increase is 9.5 percent.
Although revenue collec
tions for tfie month of March
grew at approximately the
same rate as for the past five
months, sales tax growth was
somewhat weaker. Corporate
tax collections showed a
decline for the second con
secutive month. Individual in
come growth appeared strong;
however, the ‘“‘refund process
ing cycle”” makes monthly net
comparisons difficult at this
time of year.
