Mrs. Eliza Ann Finley, 89,
of Route 1, Summerville,
Holland Community, passed
away Tuesday, April 15, in
Brentwood Nursing home after
a hé!.s:hy illness.
- was born Aug. 1, 1896,
in Chattooga County, daughter
of the late Walter Perry and
Emma Perrg Finl%y. A
member of Finley Chapel
Methodist Church, she was
married to the former Marcus
H. Finley in 1915 who preced
ed her in death as did a
daughter, Lois Nichols.
urvivors are three
daughters, Leila Evans of
Summerville, Holland Com
munity, Mae Hinton of
Pulaski, Vir., and Jewell Muse
of Detroit, Mich.; two sons,
Walter Finley of Lyerly,
Holland Community, and
Reuben Finley of Rome; one
sister, Luvenia Etchison of
Summerville; two brothers,
Oscar Finley of Lyerly and
Thelma Finley of Summerville;
one sister-in-law, Effie Mae
Finley of Lyerly; two
daughters-in-law, Hattie Finley
of Lyerly, Holland Community,
and Jacqueline Finley of Rome;
three sons-in-law, John L.
Evans of Summerville, Holland

Goss, 56, of Star Route,
Cloudland, (sassed away at 6:45
a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the
Oak View Nursing Home.
Mrs. Goss was born May
26, 1929 in Walker County,
daughter of the late Gene and
Liler Ellison Maynard. She was
a Baptist by faith.
Surviors are one daughter,
Mrs. Wanda Russell of Men
tone, Ala.; stepmother, Mrs.
Bertha Maynard of Valley
Head, Ala.; three half-sisters,
Mrs. Wilma Clark and Mrs.
Helen Smith, both of Valley
Head, Ala., and Mrs. Doris
Johnson of Fort Payne, Ala.;
three half-brothers, Clyde
Simpson of South Carolina,
Aaron Simpson of Summerville
and Travis Simpson of Texas;
one %xl-anddaughter, Angela
Russell of Mentone, Ala.
Funeral services were held
Monday, April 22, at 11 a.m.
from the Erwin-Petitt Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev.
James Wofford and the Rev.
Rickey Millican officiating.
Interment was in the
Mount Olive Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ed
Ellison, Jimmy Ellison, Melvin
Ellison, Manuel Ellison,
Thomas Shadwick and Sam
Watley.
Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
Travis Mills
Travis Mills, 63, a resident
of Route 4, Summerville, pass
ed away Mond%y. A(fril 21, at
8:45 a.m. in Floyd Medical
Center.
He was born in Chattooga
County A‘i? 19, 1922, son of
the late T. Hal Mills and Macie
A\fiusta Morton Mills. Mr.
Mills was a farmer and a
member of the Subligna
Methodist Church.
Survivirfi are his wife, Mrs.
Edna O’Neal Mills of Route 4,
Summerville; one daufihter.
Mrs. Beth Andrews of Rome;
two sons, Mike Mills and Ran
dy Mills, both of Route 4, Sum
merville; one brother, Billy
Mills of Atlanta; two sisters,
Mrs. Helen Johnston of Atlan
ta and Mrs. Yvonne Hix of
Summerville; one step
granddaughter; and several
nieces and nephews also
survive. Jiity

Wednesday, Agril 23, at 11
a.m. from the Chapel of Erwin-
Petitt Funeral Home with the
Rev. John Reeves and the Rev.
Carl Bolt officiating.
Interment was in Subligna
Cemetery.

Mrs. Frances Warren, 45, a
resident of Maple Street, Sum
merville, passed away Thurs
day night, April 17, in a Rome
hospital following a sudden
attack.
She was born in Alabama
July 18, 1940, daughter of the
late Brge Yarbrough. She was
a member of Fellowshjg Bap
tist Church in Rome and was a
medical lab technician.
Surviving are her husband,
Robert Warren of Summer
ville; one son, Scott Gaylor of
Rome; a stepdaughter, Mrs.
