autograph session was set up
and sponsored by the
Muscogee News Co., a Colum
bus book company that is
distributing David’'s book in
that area.
The autograph session went
so well they have set 1;5

P. X. for Thursday, May 8.
Base CSM Owens was there
to welcome David back to his
old training grounds. David
took basic, Airborne and
Pathfinders School at Fort
Benning.
The 173rd Airborne Brig. is
having their reunion this week
and David said he is looking
forward to seeing the
paratroopers again.

CHS Girls Win Region 7TAAA Doubles
Chattooga Hifih sophomores Ellen Thomxson and
Sl'xerrr\:l ukes have captured the Region 7TAAA Cham
sions ip in Girl’s Tennis Doubles. In reflon play, the
oubles Sartners defeated NW Whitfield, Murray Coun
ty and Dalton teams. They will travel to Laurel Park
in Marietta Monday for the first round of the state
championship. “The girls are just now beginning to
materialize as a good cooperative doubles team,”” stated
CHS Coach Skipper Stewart. “They have not peaked

Teachers’ Sorority, visited locally this week. She attend
ed the regular meeting of the Chattooga County Sorori
ty membership at the home of Annie Mae Kimbell in
Lyerly. A special guest at the meeting was Miss Tam
mie Hunter, 1985 recipient of the annual scholarship
