Closeup Look For Youngster

Memorial Home Saturday. For Trey's dad, Herb,
however, it was not the first time he had been around
this ll:l)?e “dust-off’’ helicopter. While serving with the
Ist Infantry in the Lai Khe area of South Vietnam dur
ag 1967-68, Herb (at left) more than once helged wound
comrades onto these ‘Angels of Mercy’ for a quick

four county VFW-sponsored Voice of
Democracy winners which had previous

The ladies Auxiliary of Chattooga Coun
ty VFW Post 6688 took part in the Arm
ed Forces Day parade in Summerville
Saturday. Visiting veterans groups stated
that this Armed i’orces Day parade was
rant Officer William F. Covalson, said
that since all the Hueys in the 145th were
either 1962, '65 or '6B models that it was
very possible that the helicopter on
display saw service in the Vietnam War.
