Karen Austin Marries
Jeff Chandler In Trion
Trion Heights Baptist
Church was the setting June 14
for the candlelight ceremony
uniting in marriage Miss Karen
Austin, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. W. Austin, Trion, and
Jeff Chandler, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Dewey Chandler,
Loveland, Colo.
The Rev. Jerry Pope of
ficiated at the evening
ceremony.
Forming a setting for the
exchange of vows was a large
tree candelabrum draped in
greenery and white satin bows
and weddin%_l bells. Spiral
candelabrum, flanked by small
tree candelabra and a seven ar
ched candelabra were placed on
either side of the tree. On the
floor were two double-rin
candelabrum. In'the center o?
the rings were white doves. The
focal point of the setting was
a white prafier bench at which
the couple knelt for a part of
the ceremony. White weddir;s
bells and lilies of the valley ti
with white satin bows marked
the family pews. Melody Ed
wards, sister of the bride, did
the decorations. Candles were
lighted by Tim Edwards and
Roone Gable.
A program of music was

The bride wore a sown of
silk organza and chiffon. Ac
centing the bodice and front
were lace and seed Pearls. The
back was lace ruffles which
formed into a chapel-len‘fth
train. The chapel-le:fivth veil of
illusion fell from a Juliet cap ac
cented with lace and seed
pearls. Her only jewelry was a
pearl necklace, made for her as
a gift t:iv her niece, Jerri Kaye
Edwards, and a ruby ring
given to her by the groom as a
weddin% gift.
The bride carried a cascade
bouquet of sweetheart roses
and sweet peas all made of silk.
In the bouquet, which was
made by her grandmother,
Suda Powell, was pinned a lace
handkerchief belonginfi to her
great-grandmother. The bou
quet was also carried by her
sister, Lynn, seven years ago.
Attending the bride as
matron of honor were her
sisters, Melody Edwards and
Lynn Lanier, and serving as
maid of honor was her sister,
Sandra Austin. Bridesmaids
were Jennifer Chandler and |
Jerri Kaye Edwards. They
wore floor-length dresses of old
rose, each dress styled with a
full skirt and fitted Lodlco with
ruffles on each side. Down the
front of the bodice were
burgundg satin buttons, a
satin ribbon enhanced the full
skirt. They each carried coor
dinating silk flowers. Flower
girl was Hope Edwards, niece
of the bride. She wore a white
dress with burgundfi' satin but
tons and satin enhanced the
full skirt. She carried a rose
Wicker basket filled with pink
and old rose colored silk
flowers.
Attending the goom as
best man was Jerr{‘ dwards.
Groomsmen were Tab Gable,
Roone Gable, Tim Edwards
and Dewey Chandler. They
were attired in grey tuxedos
with burfin%‘cummubund
and bow ties. m's tux
edo was white witg white cum
merbund and bow tie. The
ringbearer was Matthew
l.ufl-r. ufil‘nw of the bride. He
wore a white suit with knee
pants, knee socks, white shoes

pillow.
Mrs. Austin, mother of the
bride, was attired in a street
lenith dress of deep mauve
with matching accessories and
a corsage of silk flowers. Mrs.
Chandler, mother of the groom,
chose a light mauve floor
-length dress with matching
accessories,
The bride's parents enter
tained with a reception in the
church fellowship hall im
mediately following the
ceremony. .
The bride’'s table was
covered with ?ink and an
overlay of white lace. The focal
point was the four-tier weddinfi
cake in pink and white an
adorned on the top with pink
satin wedding bells. l-%ve
branch candelabra with pink
lighted tapers adorned each
end of the table. Silver com
got.es held pink and white
ride’s mints and nuts. The
punch table was covered iden
tical to the bride's with
garlands of ivy. Punch was
served from a silver punch
bowl.
The groom's table was
covered with a white cloth and
was centered with a large globe
holding a lifiht.ed white candle.
A tiered chocolate cake was
served from one end of the
table and the other end held a
silver service set from which
coffee was served.
Hostesses for the occasion
and those receivinf fests
were Mrs, Billa' ocklear,
cousin of the bride; Mrs. Ray
Hancock and Mrs. William
Locklear. Assistinill at the
bride's table were Mrs. Tab
Gable and Miss Hope Miller,
and at the punch table Miss
Iris Edgeman and Miss Holly
Wadsworth. At the groom's
table were Mrs. Steve Raines
and Miss Sandy Hancock.
Miss Tammie Powell, aunt
of the bride, registered the
guests at a table covered with
satin and g:xk lace holding a
lighted globe candle.
For their wedding trip to
Gatlinburg, the bride changed
into a pink dress with mat
ching accessories. They are
making their home at Route 1,
Trion.

rehearsal dinner on the terrace
at Penn Place for the wedding

Renee Hughes Becomes
Bride Of Earl Parris
Miss Susan Renee Hughes
and Earl Harrison Parris were
united in marriage April 26 at
Central Avenue Baptist
Church with the Rev. James
Braddy officiating.
The bride is the daufihter of
Mr. and Mrs. Allen ufhes
and the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Parris.
The church altar held a
genterted arcl;‘ candelabr;
ecorated wit nery an
baby's breath. (511 either side
were spiral candelabras also
decorated with gee'nery and
babg's breath. Each of the
candelabras held white candles.
The kneeling bench and unity
candle completed the scene.
Pew markers were’ lavender
and white ribbon bows.
A program of music was

organist, and Kenneth Blansit
' who sang, “What a Difference
You've Made in My Life,” and
“We've Only Just Begun.”

bride, sang, “I Owe You."”
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, chose a
dress of white chiffon and
Schiffle embroidbe&. Lace
molded the fitted ice with
seed pearls and was accented
with a lace motif. Scalloped
lace traced the portrait
neckline and draped Bast}pe
waist and long Renaissance fit
ted sleeves with an A-line crea
tion which flowed into a chapel

She carried a bridal cascade
of white and lavender roses,
rosebuds, daisies and centered
with a white orchid.
Carolyn Barksdale, cousin
of the bride, served as matron
of honor. She wore a lavender
intermission length gown of
satin with a portrait neckline,
small pearl buttons, V
waistline, full blown sleeves
and dipped bow in back to
crisscross. She carried a
nosegay of white and lavender
roses adorned with white rib
bon streamers.
The bridesmaids, Carla
Brown, E?ermint. and Pam
Howell and Tammy Teague,
Summerville wore floor-length
lavender satin gowns designed
like the matron of honors.
The flower girls, Shannon
Barksdale and Latisha Sim
mons, wore dresses of lavender
batiste with wide lace around
the scooped necklines and
around the bottom of the tea
length dresses. They wore a
ring of white and lavender
flowers in their hair and carried
baskets of white lace filled with
rose getals.
The mother of the bride
wore a dress of lilac georgette
with a scoop neck, tulip sleeves
and a skirt of soft shirring fall
ing into three tiers. She wore a
corsage of white roses.
The groom's mother chose
a dress of pink chiffon with a
V neckline, long sleeves and
pleaed skirt. She wore a cor
sage of white roses.
The groom wore a tuxedo of
white with white accessories.
Earl Parris, father of the
goom. served as best man.
roomsmen were Mike Taylor |
and Cliff Smith, Atlanta; and
Chris Hillard, Rome. Zack
Hughes, nephew of the bride,
served as ring bearer.
The groomsmen and ring
bearer wore tuxedos with white
slacks, f‘k lavender shirts and
darker lavender jackets. Thea:

lapels.
