Scott Franklin Smith, Ring
gold, were united in marriage
in a candlelight setting at 6
p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Cen
tral Baptist Church, Hixson,
Tenn. 'l'gie Rev. R. O. Stone of
Rome, and uncle of the
bridegroom, offered scripture
‘ reading and Frayer prior to the
| exchange of vows. Dr. Ron
| Phillips officiated at the
' double-ring ceremony.
| The bride is the daughter of
| Mr. and Mrs. Robert V.
| Tucker, Hixson, Tenn., and
I formerly of Summerville, The
bridegroom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Claude F. Smith of
Ringgold.
Miss Rosemary Morehead,
f Summerville, served as maid of
honor.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
| bridal creation of ivory satin.
| The gown was designed with
the Victorian neckline and
sleeves. The bodice was of re
embroidered lace encrusted
| with pearls and iridescents at
| tached to a yoke of tulle. The
| sleeves were puffed then fitted
| and tapered to a point with ap
| pliques of re-embroidered lace
‘ encrusted with pearls and
}iridescents. Hand-clipped
medallions of crystal and pearl
ed lace enhanced the back of
the flowing skirt which fell
from a fitted waistline, and
finished with a wide border of
re-embroidered lace encrusted
with pearls and iridescents
| sweepiillf into a chapel-length
| train. Her matching chapel
| length veil of silk illusion scat
tered with ?earls and
| iridescents fell from a head
| band of pearls, crystals and
| wisteria. The bride carried a
| cascade bouquet of ivory roses,
E steflhanotis and ivy, centered
| with white gardenias with old
| lace ribbon and pearl
| streamers.
§ For her daughter’'s wed
| ding, Mrs. Tucker chose a shell
| pink silk blouson top with an
| overlay of silk organza studd
ed with hot pink beads and
silver bugle beads over a mat
ching tea-length skirt edged
| with the hot pink beads. ghe
| carried white gardenias on her
| matching purse. Mrs. Smith
| wore a gown of lavender chif
’ son featurini an iridescent
| medallion at the shoulder from
| which the dress softly draped.

Mr. and Mrs. Tucker enter

reception hall. Upon entering
the reception area guests were

and their parents.
For her going-away attire,
the bride chose a pale i‘;lue silk
and ivory lace dress with ivory
accessories. She crried a long
stemmed mauve tea rose. After
a weddirlifi trip to New Smyrna
Beach, Fla., the couple is at
home in Birmingham, Ala. i

The Rev. Gene Nicholson
officiated at the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William David
Grigsby, LaFayette.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. William W. Bussey,
Griffin.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a white
gown featuring a fitted bodice
with jagged waistline adorn
with Alencon ap%liques and
seeded pearls. The Juliet
sleeves were accented with rose
trim and Alencon appliques
and lace. The full skirt extend
ed to a chapel-length train.
Her fingertip veil fell from
a halo of sifi( flowers with seed
ed pearls scattered over the
veil and blusher.
She carried a bouquet of
white silk sweetheart roses and
baby's breath with white satin
streamers.
Miss Leigh Moore, Rome,
served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids included Miss
DeAnna McWhorter,
LaFayette, and Mrs. Ava
Chambers, Atlanta.
The bride’s attendants wore
tea-length gowns of yellow taf
feta covered with a white lace
overlay.
They carried bouquets of
yellow roses and baby’s breath
wit{}ivyellow satin streamer.
illiam W. Bussey Jr.,
brother of the groom, served as
best man.
Groomsmen included
Russell Chambers and Joseph
Stephens, Atlanta.
Bollowing the ceremony, a
reception was held in the
fellowship hall of the Fifth
Avenue Baptist Church.
Mrs. Donna Estus, sister of
the bride, kept the bride's
book.
