Gore Resident Grows Tall Sunflowers
Gore resident Eugene Bruce is shown with some of the
tall sunflowers he planted this year. Some of the flowers
ragfie up to 14 feet to 16 feet tall, he said, and some
stalks measure 62 inches around. Several of the heads
measure 10 to 12 inches across, Bruce said, and some
of the sunflower leaves are as wide as 20 inches. This
is the first year Bruce has grown sunflowers and he fer
tilized them with a few rabbit pellets this past spring.
