Signs Replaced At New One-Way Drive
Signs were replaced this week on the
western end of Recreation Drive. The
street between Highway 100 and
Highway 114 has been ma(i'e a one-wa
drive westward. In the background, Bifi

Danny J. Watson, son of
Robert J. and Kay E. Watson,
Rome, has been commissioned
a second lieutenant in the U. S.
Air Force upon graduation
from Officer Training School at
Lackland Air Force Base,
Texas.
His wife, Lori, is the
daughter of Marian Carter,
Summerville Rte. 1, and
Charlotte Parr, Rome.
The 12-week course trained
selected college graduates to
apply communicative skills,
professional knowledge, leader
ship and management in posi
tions of responsibility.

day, SeYt. 1, for the Labor
Day holiday.
No garbage will be
picked up that day. All ci
ty operations will resume
service on Tuesday, Sept.

Trion Parking
Restrictions
Trion Mayor J. C. Woods
this week again reminded Trion
area residents about parking
restrictions at the city schools.
He said the parking lot bet
ween the high school and com
munity center is reserved for
school and community service
parking only and other cars
will be towedy at owner expense.
Dalton and Pine Streets are
reserved for school use park
ing, he said, as is the semi-circle
in front of the elementary
school Monday through Fri
day, the mayor said.
Boosters Meet
The Chattooga County
Athletic Boosters Club will
meet at 7 F.m. today at the
Summerville Recreation
Center, Bolling Road.

Lyerly Church of Christ. Penn
ville (,Y hurch of Christ will host
the singing Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.
