popular weight-loss program.
“*And that number is grow
ing every day,” said Jesse
Lewis, Red Food senior vice
president. *The first week has
been beyond our expectations.
People are not only benefiting
through weight loss, but also
through the ‘Rotation Diet’s’
emphasis on good health
through nutritious eatin
habits and exercise. Red Foog
is glad to bring this successful
and beneficial program to the
community."
Lewis said that ‘‘Rotation
Diet’ booths in store
throughout the Red Food chain
have been busy, and that foods
recommended by the diet —
such as fresh fruit and
vegetables — have been in in
creased demand.
The ‘‘Rotation Diet'” was
developed by Dr. Martin
Katahn, a psychology pro
fessor and Director of the
Weight Management Program
at Vanderbilt%}niversity. Itis
the fruition of more than ten
years of research developed in
close cooperation with nutri
tion and physical fitness ex
perts and flas been successful
ly tested in small groups over
a three-year period.
“The ‘Rotation Diet’
works,”” said Dr. Katahn,
“because it is designed to avoid
many of the problems of other
diets by offering quick results
while keeping to a safe pro
gram of calorie reduction and
exercise.”’
