Subligna
A $28,000 note was burned
during ceremonies last
weekend at the Subligna
Volunteer Fire Department
Station.
The loan, which was paid
off in around 15 months, built
the 40 x 60 concrete block fire
station.
The fire department paid
off the debt through fund
raisers, federal revenue sharing
funds allocated by Chattooga
Commissioner Harry Powell
and state allocations.
Two fire trucks are located
at the station, which features
a kitchen and basement area.
Billy Reece donated proper
ty on which the station was
built.
A large crowd turned out
for the note-burning, food and
music presented by the Coun
try Satisfaction Band,
Ringgold.
