Storage Burglary Probed
Summerville police are in
vestigating the theft of a
number of items from Chat
tooga Storage, North Com
merce Street, in recent weeks.
Sgt. Mark Underwood said
Monday a stor;lge bin rented
by Shelia Sims, Newport News,
V’;.. had been entered. Listed
as missing were a 20-inch bicy
cle, 19-inch black and white
television set, a computer
game, towels, sheets and
washcloths, dishes, silverware
and other home items. Value of
the stolen items was not known
immediately.
LOCK BROKEN
Someone broke the lock off
the front door at the home of
Helen Adams, 4 W. Seventh
Ave., Sundag' night or early
Monday, said Sgt. Larry Ben
nett. Listed as missing were
old bracelets and diamond ear
rinis. The house was also ran
sacked. Value of the missing
items was %ut at $596.
A 13-inch television set and
an AM/FM radio were stolen
from the home of Carolyn
Adams, 601 State St., last Fri
day night, said Lt. J.R.
J of‘llnson. The thieves also tried
to set fire to the house but the
blaze went out on its own,
reports said. No point of entry
was found.
Hubcaps valued at S2OO
were taken last week from a car
at the residence of Lorenzo
Wilson, 201 Bittings Ave., said
Capt. Fred Lawson.
CHANGE
Around $lO in change was
taken from an unlocked soft
drink machine at Mann
Manufacturing Co., Economy
Street, late last week, said Sgt.
James Pierce. Entry was gain
ed by breaking out a window
on the north side of the
building, said reports.
A brown dog was being
sought by officer Gary Ford in
connection with the deaths of
eight chickens at the home of
Martha Hunter, 24 Favor St.,
Monde(?'. The dog reportedly
entered a chicken pen at the
residence and killed the
chickens.

Rte. 2 man was arrested on
misdemeanor drug charges late
last week at his place of

search warrant on Robert
Craig last Thursday, Feb. 15,
at his place of empf:)yment at
Riegel Textile Corp., Trion,
said investigators.
After the search, Craig was
charged with violating the
Georgia Controlled Substances
Act in connection with
suspected marijuana found in
the pockets of his clothing,
reports indicated.
He was released on SSOO
bond after his arrest.

man, Frankie Reynolds, was
found dead at 209 Alred St.,
early this week. No foul play is
suspected, said Capt. Lawson.

Summerville, late last week
and left without paying, said

a Tri-Star Basketball Skill Cor:-
