Likes Stories On Elderly
Dear Editor:
I am especially enjoying these stories in
{our paper about Ms. Dodd and the other elder

As I drive from Trion to Summerville, the
men are so busy working on the highway. So
many improvements are being made in our
county. It makes one glad. Someone has to care
to get things like this going.

Bicentennial Faets
Dear Editor:
The celebration of the bicentennial of the
United States Constitution begins this month.
Our nation's Constitution was signed on
Sept. 17, 1787, and DAV members can take
pride in the sacrifices they made to maintain
the Constitution as a living document.
Along these lines, you may wish to know
some historical facts about the contributions
veterans of the Revolutionary War made in the
formation of the document that stands as the
foundation of our nationhood.
How many of the following questions could
you answer:
Question: How many of the 40 men who
signed the Constitution were veterans of the
Revolutionary War?
Answer: Twenty-three.
Question: Which Revolutionary War
veteran was the Secretary who attested
(witnessed) the Constitution?
Answer: William Jackson.
