Has Good Year
First National Bank of
Chattooga County, at its an
nual shareholders meeting held
Tuesday, regorted record ear
ninfs of $462,474.35 in 1986.
n his report given to the
stockholders, T. %‘ay Hurley,
chairman of the board, also
reported that the bank earned
$5.78 Eer share of stock in
1986, that the bank's return on
assets was 2.01 percent and its
return on equity was 19.28
percent.
The bank also experienced
“tremendous growth™ in many
imFortanl: areas such as loan
volume which increased by 20
percent and demand deposits
which increased by 24.8 per
cent during 1986.
“The bank is committed to
aid in the irowth and develop
ment of Chattooga County in
every way possible. One way
we have of helping the com
munity is to reinvest as much
as possible back into the com
munity in the form of loans.
Many of these loans are to
businesses or for expansion of
existing businesses which in
turn increases employment op
?ortunities in the county. We
eel that our commitment to
the community has aided the
community and that the bank
has been rewarded by an in
crease in our demand
deposits.”
Hurley went on to say that
the bank was *‘looking forward
to 1987"" and was "optimistic”

Council will meet at 9 a.m.
Saturday at city hall to review
the first six months expen

It will be an open meeting.

Cash is scheduled to address
the Summerville-Trion Rotary
Club at noon next Monday.
The club meets weekly at

No Foul Play
A Summerville woman
found dead at 209 Alred St.
early last week was 31 years
old, not 29 as first reported.
She was also incorrectly iden
tified as a man in a report last
week. No foul play was
suspected in the death of Mrs.
Frankie Reynolds, police said
at the time.
