On Monday morning, the
residents that feel like it have
a meeting in the dining room to
take exercise. They take exer
cises, discuss current events,
movies, the weather. Then all
of their names are put in a box
for a drawing. This Monday
the lucky resident was J. D.
Bailey and he won a $5.00 bill.
Trion Slates

Bid Opening
Bids will be opened at 3:30
p.m. Friday at Trion Town Hall
on three vehicles and one com
pact loader.
Vehicles being offered for
sale include a 1981 Ford LTD,
a 1981 Chevrolet pickup truck,
a 1958 Chevrolet dump truck
and a 1974 ‘Ford compact
loader. The vehicles will be saold
“as-is.”
The 1981 automobile was
the subject of a controversy
last year when the Trion Coun
cil ordered that it be turned
over to Police Chief David
Starkey. MaKor J.C. Woods
objected to the action.
After several months had
passed, the vehicle had not had
repairs made that had been
ordered by the Council. At the
December meeting, the panel
decided to sell the car after it
learned of previously unknown
mechanica? problems.
Singing Saturday
The fifth Saturday singing
will be held this weekend at
Mt. Zion Independent Church,
Rinehart, Ala., beginning at
6:30 p.m. (CST).
Special singers will include
The Revelations, Summerville.
The public is invited.
