time is 7 p.m. and the occasion
is the crowning of the ‘‘Miss
Oak View Nursing Home.”

queens still living at the home.

Smith, 1980; and Mrs. Mary
Dempsey, 1982.

Lewis Chancy resides below '
Menlo, but wanted training in |
industrial electrical I
maintenance. While working at
Valley View Ranch on Lookout |
Mountain, he became ac
quainted with a co-worker who I
was a student at Walker Tech.
Lewis learned that Walker |
Tech offered a good program in |
the course he had always I
wanted to study. He started
his classes at Walker Tech and l
now says, ‘lt is well worth the |
45-minute drive. | especially
enjoy the electrical wiring, and l
I have recommended it to |
others.”” Lewis hopes to go to |
work wiring houses for his |
father and uncle after |
graduation. -
Ralph Tyson and Mark i
Holder made plans for further
study in electronics after tak- l
ing a plant maintenance course
at Coosa Tech in Rome. As |
Ralph and Mark became more 1
interested in electronics, they
visited Walker Tech to talk to
the electronics instructors and
look at the program. Both
students knew that the number {
of jobs for electronics techni- ’
cians would be increasing, and |
this electronics training would |
be the way to enter t%\at job ’

nounced the selection of Mrs.
Barbara P. White as district
supervisor for seven of the
company'’s stores in Northwest
Georgia, including the Sum
merville store.
She was reviously
employed by Fleet Bil Co. as an
assistant manager, manager
and field auditor.
Mrs. White left the Smile
Convenience Store as manager
Wednesday, and assumed her
new position today.
While employed with Smile,
part of the Camp Oil Co.,
Rome, she did a complete
reorganization of the operation
there, and trained t?le new
manager, Debra Love,
Summerville.
Mrs. White resides with her
husband, Monroe, in Chat
tooga County.

Now that they've decided
to attend Walker Tech, Mark
and Ralph spend three hours a
day driving back and forth to
Walker 'lgech's Electronics
Technology program. Ralph,
who lives 75 miles away, starts
out from Lindale south of
Rome, and drives north to Ar
muchee to share a ride with
Mark. Mark and Ralph ride
together to save money
hecause the daily round trip
costs $lO.
To be able to afford the cost
of transportation, Ralgh works
{)arttime at his own business.

for Ralph parttime, and both

After graduation Ralph and

Chattooga County Day has been schedul
ed at the Georgia Governor’'s Mansion,
West Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta. Special
tours will be given Chattoo%s residents
