Procurement Conference Scheduled
Two Chattooga County Chamber of Com
merce officials participated recently in a
planning session for a federal procure
ment conference scheduled by Seventh
District Rep. George ‘‘Buddy’ Darden,

Vaughn of Cloudland joined
Mr. Millican and Vernon and
the Smith family for dinner on
Sunday, the occasion being Mr.
Millican's 83rd birthday
anniversary.
Mrs. Idelle Vaughn and
Mrs. Frances House attended
the fair in Rome Thursday.
Mrs. Frances House visited
Mrs. Naomi Guyton and Mrs.
Eme Strawn Saturday. Mrs.
House also visited Mrs. Louise
Caldwell Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Cora gell Miller of
Sand Mountain was guest
Saturday of her sister, Mrs.
Naomi guyton.
Mr. and Mrs. John Comer
and Mrs. Bessie Tudor of Trion
visited Mrs. John D. Comer in
Mableton Thursday. They also
visited their daughter, Mrs.
Marl\%aret Gee, in Rome.

returned home from Redmond
Park Hospital. Friends wish
for her a speedy recovery.

Logistics Agency, reviewed plans for the
conference, which is set for Jan. 29 in
Rome. Purpose of the conference is to
show local businesses how to do business
with the federal government. Information
on the conference may be obtained from
the local Chamber, the Rome Area
Chamber or from Darden's office in Rome.

pounds, 7 ounces.

1987 telephone directories

next few weeks. The directory
contains listings for Summer
ville, Lyerly, Menlo and Trion.
“Our ‘Where To Reach Us’
section is designed to help the
customer determine where to
call for a particular service,”
said Bill Scott, General
Telephone customer service
manager.
“We put the new section
right up front as part of the
Consumer Information Section
as a handy reference for basic
information on telephone ser
vice,” he said. *“The new sec
tion contains an index and
many categories of informa
tion, including an exFlanation
of the telephone bill, monefi'-
saving consumer tips and the
directions on how to get help
with special telecommunica
tions needs.”
Approximately 13,950
directories will be distributed
in Chattooga County.
Each residential customer
will be delivered one book per
household. Additional books
may be requested at the time
of delivery or subsequentl{y at
our local service office.
Customers may request up to
three residential directories
free of charge. Additional book
quantities may be purchased at
the normal sale price.
All customers should have
their new directories by Nov.
13
