It was a bad day at Black
Rock as the Chattooga Indians
hosted the Fort Payne
Wildcats Friday night at the
Little Big Horn. The Wildcats
came out on the top end of a

The Indians only trailed by

Wildcat quarterback, Jodie
Goggans was the Indians’
nemesis, scoring five
touchdowns on short runs. He
only rushed the ball 9 times
and gained 62 yards. He also

ARMUCHEE LINEMAN MAKES JERSEY TACKLE ON WARRIOR
Randy Broyles (82) Brought Down in Backfield
drives which did net good yar
dage into Fort Payne territory
the Indians only managed one
more first down and 14 total
vards for the last half.
The Indians took the se
cond half kickoff and lost three
vards to the 30 before Michael
Perry boomed a 45-6ard punt
to the Wildcat 17. On the se
cond play from there, Curtis
McDanie{ took the handoff
straight up the middle and
galloped 81 yards to the Indian
2 before Corey Perry made a
spectacular tackle, comin
from many yards behin§
McDaniel to catch him and
make the tackle. Goggans then
called his own number and ran
the two yards for the score
with 8:16 left in the third
quarter. Brent Noles ran the
two-point conversion and the
Wil&ats led, 20-0.
It didn't get much better on
the Indians’ next possession as
a halfback ostion pass was in
terceé)ted and only Corey Perry
stood in the way of the defen
sive back returning it all the
way for a touchdown. He did it
aEain Lackling7 the ballcarrier at
the Indian 27. From there, 4
plays and a 15-yard penalty to
the Indians put the Wildcats
on the scoreboard again, with
Goigans scoring from the 1
with 3:59 left in the third
quarter. The kick for the PAt
was no good and the score
stood 26-0.
On fourth down after the
ensuing kickoff when the In
dians failed to move the
pigskin, a bad snap to the
unter gave the Wildcats the
gall at the Indians 23. From
there, they took three plays
with, you guessed it, Jody Gog
gans scoring from the 1. Matt
Hammonds added the PAT
and the Wildcats were up 33-0
with 1:32 left in the third
quarter.
The Fort Payne last score
came when they took the ball
over on downs at their own 42.
| The second half started
! with the Warriors driving from
| their own 42 to the Armuchee
27 before losing the ball on
downs.
The next four possessions
by either team ended with tur
novers. Armcuhee losing the
ball on an interception by
Hosmer and a fumble and the
Warriors losing two fumbles.
The last fumble by Armuchee
gave the Warriors the ball at
the Indians 40. On the first
glay, Warrior back Chase
ayne broke free and raced 16
yards but when he was hit,
fumbled the ball right back to
Armcuhee.
The Indians then put
together a drive that took 13
plays, three first down and
covered yardage from their
own 24 to the Indian 26 before
losin% the ball on downs. The
big play for the Warriors was
a quarterback sack on fourth
down to preserve the victory.
The Warriors did manage

Shannon McCord added the
last touchdown from 22 yards
out. Hammond added the PAT
and the score stood 40-0 with
