Optimists Give Funds To Masons

Masonic effort to feed needy families dur
ing the Christmas season. The Masons
first announced plans to feed 100 families
but Lively said after the Optimist Club
Thefts, Burglaries Probed By Officers
The Chattooga County
Sheriff's Office is investigating
the theft of $770 in jewelry
from a rural county home dur
ing the latter part of November
or the first part of this month.
Reports said a black onyx
ring, a 14-inch gold chain,
18-inch gold chain and a
20-inch gold chain were taken
from the home of Sandra Keen,
Summerville Rte. 3, between
Nov. 26 and last Thursday.
The incident was probed by
Dep. Ladon Lively.
RADIO '
An AM/FM cassette radio
system valued at $593 was
stolen from the bed of a pickup
truck on the Wal-Mart Dis
count City parking lot last Fri
day, said reports. The system
had been bought a short time

owned by James Farmer, 302

night, said a report filed by

vestigated a report of a vicious
dog on Memorial Lane last Fri

with writing a bad check and
released on SSOO bond.
— Pamela Diane Mitchell,
21, 54 11th St., Trion, was
charged Tuesday with writing
a bad check and released on
SSOO bond.
— Mike Charles Laney, 28,
7 Sunrise Cir., Trion, was
charged Tuesday with two
counts of writing bad checks
and released on SI,OOO bond.

— Pauline McGuire Laney,
27, 303 Bittings Ave., Sum
merville, was charged with
shoplifting Monday and releas
ed on SSOO bond.

More than 350 gifts were distributed to
f)atients at Central State Hospital recent

businesses, churches and individuals.

both charged with cruelty to
children Sunday. She was

$25,000 bond.
— Faye Jonathan Beaver,
22, Summerville, was charged
Saturday with writing a bad
check and released on SSOO
bond.
— J. F. Johnson, 28, Sum
merville Rte. 2, was charged
with simple battery Saturgay
and released on SSOO bond.
— Terry H. Frazier, 23,
Fort Payne, Ala., was charged
last Friday with violating the
Georgia Controlled Substances
Act, driving on a suspended
license, driving under the in
fluence of intoxicants and driv
ing on the wrong side of the
road. He was released on bonds
of $4,500.
BAD CHECKS
— Susan Marie Croy, 33,
Hixon, Tenn., was charged
with two counts of writing bad
checks and disposing of mor
tgaged property last Friday
and released on $3,000 bond.
— John Charles Croy, 38,
Hixon, Tenn., was picked up on
19 bench warrants on Dec. 10
